Kids in conflict & crisis settings are left behind:help us re-imagine their future through education
As the first and only global fund exclusively focused on education in emergencies and protracted crises, Education Cannot Wait (ECW) understands the short and long-term impacts of schools closing across the nation and around the world, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
ECW distributes funding and support where it is needed most, as quickly as possible, in over 35 countries, to continue children's education in times of conflict, crisis or natural disasters. Prior to COVID-19, 75 million children had their education disrupted by conflict or crisis - those numbers have risen with 1.5 billion kids now out of school due to pandemic closures.
With needs escalating for those who were already furthest behind, Education Cannot Wait is calling on governments, private sector companies, philanthropic foundations and global leaders to rise and support our efforts to mobilize new funding for education in crisis settings by 2021 with a target of raising $300M for the coming year.
The need to deliver quality education remotely, efficiently, sometimes with new, bold and forward thinking approaches, and to connect 75M kids who are displaced, on the move, or in remote and rural regions to learning, is a 365 day-a-year challenge for us.
Help us rise to this challenge with critical funding that can make sure every child has access to schooling to stay safe, healthy, fed, heal from trauma and look forward to a brighter future - even in the darkest times.
