Our Mission

The METCO (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) program offers minority students from Boston a high quality, suburban education and Wellesley students a much more diverse learning environment.

FWMI is a charitable, all volunteer organization comprised of parents, WPS educators and Wellesley community members who are committed to helping Wellesley’s METCO students make the most of the educational opportunities provided by the program. ​ More broadly, we seek to promote greater understanding between Boston and Wellesley families and the communities in which we live.
