Our Mission
The Luminos Fund runs catch-up education programs for some of the most vulnerable and hardest-to-reach children in parts of sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East.
In just one school year, children learn how to read, write, and do math through a joyful, activity-based curriculum that helps them thrive in school. To date, they have helped hundreds of thousands of children secure a second chance to learn.

Jessica’s family didn’t have enough money to send her to school. At age 11, Jessica finally started school by enrolling in the Luminos Fund’s free catch-up education program. Within six months, Jessica progressed from not recognizing any letters of the alphabet to being one of the best readers in her class. There are millions primary-school-aged children like Jessica who are out of school globally. The Luminos Fund's vision is of a world where no child is ever denied the chance to learn.
