The Friends of Devil's Lake State Park is organized for the charitable and educational purpose of supporting, assisting and promoting the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources with interpretive, scientific, historical, educational, recreational, and related visitor services at Devil's Lake State Park, Wisconsin's busiest state park, welcoming over 2.4 million visitors a year. We use our minds, muscle, and money to ensure the park remains the crown jewel of Wisconsin's state park system.
The Friends of Devil's Lake State Park are committed to making Devil's Lake State Park a more sustainable and environmentally responsible public gathering place. We sponsor programs and trainings, volunteer stewardship days, and educational opportunities to reduce the footprint of visitors to this busy park. Our stewardship projects give back to the land and our trail maintenance work helps reduce erosion on steep elevations. Our highway and park cleanups get trash and litter out of public areas. We encourage healthy and free outdoor recreation activities for all people regardless of race, ethnicity, income, or ability. We promote cultural understanding of the history of the land. We work hard to connect the local community with the visitation to this park, which sees over 2.4 million visitors from around the world during a year.
