Our Mission
Scruffy Tails Humane Society, formerly Humane Society of Polk County in Crookston, MN was founded as a 501c(3) in January 1982 by passionate animal advocates, with the desire to help the animals in their community. Over the past 40 years this shelter has worked hard to help animals that have come into our care by reuniting lost pets with their owners and finding a forever home for pets deserving of a loving environment and a safe place to call home. We could not have done this without the dedication of our staff, volunteers and donors.

Your support can make a real impact, which will go directly to our everyday expenses. These expenses include our monthly utilities, wages, vet bills and emergency care for animals. Cat and Dog food, both wet and dry and kitten milk supplement, Dog and Cat treats. Cat litter, litter boxes, food dishes, toys, bedding, laundry soap, trash bags, cleaning supplies, office supplies (printer ink, paper, virus blocker).
