Agroforestry in Guatemala

This regenerative agroforestry project plants fruit trees and legumes along contour lines—a crucial technique for Guatemala's steep mountains that face heavy annual rains. Key impacts include: 325% increase in plant biodiversity compared to previous slash-and-burn approach, erosion control and soil restoration, food security for local communities, and diversified income streams for farmers. The result? Thriving ecosystems where bare land once stood, and economic independence for smallholder families. This is what regenerative agriculture looks like on the ground.
