Sacramento Stand Down Association

Our Mission

Sacramento Stand Down organizes Stand Down events and coordinates state, federal, and nonprofit partners to provide short-term relief and access to services for homeless and at‑risk veterans in the Sacramento area. Their work focuses on practical supports (meals, shelter/rest, connections to benefits, housing, health care, legal help and re‑entry supports) and on restoring dignity — a “hand up, not a hand out.”
