Pledge to make a difference, together.
Now in its 35th season the Sudbury Symphony has developed into a fine community orchestra. Composed of 40+ musicians from the Sudbury Region, both professional and volunteer musicians, the orchestra's activities are centered around an annual season of six concerts (plus a new special children's matinée performance of the Christmas concert) with additional fundraising concerts and other special events. The orchestra employs a professional conductor, four principal musicians (a Concertmaster, Principal Violin II, Principal Viola and Principal Cello), a part-time rehearsal conductor and personnel manager, as well as approximately ten local professional musicians on a per service/per concert basis. The SSO's core musicians are committed to providing Outreach and Education presentations in the Greater Sudbury Area and surrounding communities. The Conservatory of Music currently employs five teachers, with students enrolled in violin, viola, and cello lessons and ensembles.
