Founded in 1989, the Literacy Foundation is a non-profit organization whose specific mandates are: organization of fund-raising activities, awareness, support to organizations, prevention and referral.
Our vision of the future is for each person to be able to acquire the ability to understand and use written information in order to improve his knowledge, enhance his potential and achieve full self-actualization.
In Quebec, 16% and in Canada, 15% of the population aged 16-65 are on the lowest rung of the reading ability scale according to the International Adult Literacy and Skills Survey.
Much remains to be done ... Only 2% of illiterate individuals undertake literacy training.
