The first priority of Your Life Counts is to offer immediate attention to youth and families who are at risk via an online lifeline, providing access to counseling at www.yourlifecounts.org We also have school and community programs.
Working collaboratively with the mental health care community, YLC provides educational resources, referrals, and ongoing counseling.
YLC has been at the forefront of suicide prevention advocacy including a major force for the framework of Bill C-300 the Establishment of a Federal Framework for Suicide Prevention Act. It essentially calls on Ottawa to come up with a plan to combat suicide.
Guided by a world class team of advisors and experts working together with individuals and families who have either experienced a suicide attempt or have lost a loved one to suicide, YLC continues to steady and save many more lives embracing an empathic, therapeutic psychological approach in association with contemporary psychiatric practice.
