Donations received on CanadaHelps will be committed to the Foundation's collaboration with "Maison de la Gare" of Saint Louis, Senegal.
Tens of thousands of "talibé" children beg on the streets of Senegal's cities for 6 to 10 hours each day for their food and for money to give to the "teacher" who controls them. They live under unconscionable conditions, without access to running water, rudimentary hygiene or nurture, often without shelter and subject to severe abuse.
Maison de la Gare works within this situation to improve the taibés' living conditions and to give them hope of becoming productive participants in Senegalese society.
