Our Mission

Waladi could be your child, your grandchild, your niece or nephew, and the kid next door. Waladi, which means “my child” in Arabic, is everyone’s child. As the old African proverb goes, “it takes a village to raise a child.”

Waladi is the brainchild of Simon Kattar, Executive Chef and co-owner of à la Carte Kitchen Inc., in Toronto. It is a registered charity dedicated to providing an education to children at home and around the world
