Pledge to make a difference, together.
Olive Tree Projects runs a maternity centre just outside of Jacmel city, in the south of Haiti, providing accessible prenatal, labour and delivery, and post natal care to women in the community. OTP charges a small fee for its prenatal to postnatal care at the maternity centre. This way, we are not adding to the culture of dependency that is created through hand-outs. Through our nutrition program, we offer weekly nutritional classes for the mothers of malnourished children while monitoring the growth of these children who are being treated with a three month course of Medika Mamba, a highly fortified peanut butter meal. OTP also runs a small handicraft project for women and teens called Project Amen. The handicrafts are sold to visitors in Haiti and at fundraisers in North America. The members of Project Amen use the money they earn for education and for their families. The projects of OTP are run by Sarah in Haiti, along with a few local staff.
