The mission of LA's BEST is to provide a safe and supervised after school education, enrichment and recreation program for elementary school children ages five to 12 in the City of Los Angeles. Every school day, each LA’s BEST student receives a nutritious meal, help with their homework and the opportunity to participate in a wide array of enrichment activities.
In the past yearm LA's BEST staffed 63 Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Centers and 43 LAUSD COVID testing sites. By serving 350,00 0 meals a day, five days per week over 100 million were served through the combined efforts of LA's BEST and LAUSD. The advocacy of the LA's Best team led to a $2 billion increased in state funding for afterschool and summer learning programs across California.
