Le Nichoir was founded in 1988 in Vaudreuil-Soulanges. A group of volunteers started taking care of injured and orphaned wild birds in their homes. In 1994, the Centre moved to 637 Main Road, Hudson, QC for the summer months to an old and unwinterized barn. That year, 487 birds were cared for. In 2013, the public brought 1 500 wild birds including hundreds of ducklings to the Centre. Le Nichoir organizes several free public events and workshops. Two full time employees, 4 summer students and over 70 volunteers are at the heart of the Centre's operations. Le Nichoir is unique in Quebec, it has become an important educational and scientific resource. It is the largest rehabilitation centre for song birds in Canada. Le Nichoir is currently raising funds for the construction of the new Wild Bird Conservation Centre. This 4 season facility will replace the unwinterized barn, will have more rehabilitation space and a classroom.

The Atlantic Wildlife Institute, formerly known as Maritime Atlantic Wildlife, was established in 1996, near Sackville, New Brunswick. A provincially and federally licensed wildlife rehabilitation facility, it studies displaced wildlife to determine causes of displacement and integrates its findings with larger issues of environmental education and management. It provides young people with exceptional opportunities for experiential learning about nature. Other AWI programs include: ecological research; safe wildlife handling; consultation and response in wildlife-related emergencies.

TLC Animal Aid was founded over 20 years ago in Windsor, Ontario by a group of wonderfully caring women. We are a non-profit no-kill animals rescue group. We receive no government funding, but rely solely on donations of our supporters and our fundraising efforts. We take in abandoned, abused, neglected and stray cats and dogs and find them loving homes. They receive all the medical treatment that is necessary and are placed into caring foster homes until a permanent home can be found. We also have a TNR program to help assist with the overpopulation of animals in this area. You can help and give them the life and the love they wish they always had! Unfortunately it can happen that the veterinary care needed to treat a sick or injured animal is more expensive than owners expect. This can force owners to make a heartbreaking choice between coming up with the funds to continue treatment or suspending the treatment and having to consider euthanizing their pet. As part of its mission to give animlas the best possible veterinary care, the DMV Center has created the DMV Foundation. This non profit organization provides financial help to owners whose pets are being treated at the Center and who cannot afford the full cost of the treatment. MEOW Foundation is the best known and most respected, no-kill feline rescue and humane society in Alberta. MEOW has a unique three-prong program approach to humanely control and reduce feline over-population: Rescue and Adoption, SNAP (Spay Neuter Assistance Program) for low income Calgarians and TNR (Trap Neuter Return) program for feral cats. Critter Care Wildlife Society rescues, rehabilitates and releases back into the wild native mammal species of British Columbia inclusive of Black Bear Cubs.

The Long Point area, comprising 26,250 hectares, was designated as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in April, 1986, the third to be named in Canada and one of 15 biosphere reserves found in this country today. It provides an example of the Great Lakes coastal ecosystem and a unique blend of habitats. Its delicate dunes and marshes teem with songbirds, spawning fish, turtles and frogs. The Long Point World Biosphere Reserve Foundation promotes research, monitoring, community outreach and education, partnerships, and projects that support the goals of biodiversity, conservation and sustainable communities in the Long Point World Biosphere Reserve. We exchange information and work collaboratively with the Canadian Biosphere Reserves Association and other biosphere reserves in Canada and internationally. Our UNESCO/MAB Biosphere Reserve designation does not bring with it any new authorities over lands, water or resources.

The Refuge pour chats de Verdun is a non-profit organization composed of volunteers who share the same passion: a love of cats. The refuge does not have a fixed location where it keeps and cares for cats awaiting adoption: they are all placed in volunteers foster families who look after them until they are adopted.

National Service Dogs pioneered service dog training for children with autism in 1996. Since then NSD has proven that properly trained and certified autism service dogs can: •increase safety levels and alleviate the bolting behaviours common in children with autism by acting as an anchor when tethered to the child •improve a child’s socialization and behavior skills •expand a child’s capabilities to experience more of life and to grow •calm children thereby giving them an increased attention span and a greater aptitude for learning Each child/dog team represents an 8-10 year commitment from NSD and is valued at $30,000. With the support of donors like you we are able to provide autism service dogs at no charge to children in need. In March of 2011 NSD launched a program to provide Skilled Companion Dogs to veterans with post traumatic stress disorder. Please consider lending your support to this new program today!

The Brant County SPCA is dedicated to animal welfare by creating a kind, compassionate and safe environment for all animals. The Brant County SPCA is a not-for-profit, non-government funded organization that has been providing animal protection and welfare services in the City of Brantford and the County of Brant for over 40 years. These services include a home for homeless animals, investigation into animal cruelty and neglect, pet adoptions and humane education. The shelter located at 539 Mohawk Street, Brantford was built in 1969 and it has been providing a home for homeless animals ever since. These animals include but are not limited to cats, dogs, rabbits, degus, hamsters, guinea pigs, birds and the occasional snake or two. Although the domestic animals are housed and cared for at the shelter, the Brant County SPCA also rescues over 1000 sick, injured and orphaned wild animals annually.
