Rescue Animals, Treatment of Animals and Adoption of Animals

The Animal Rescue League of Berks County is a charitable 501(c)3 organization caring for over 5,000 animals each year to help them find second chances in a new home or to help reunite them with their grateful owners. For more than 70 years, we’ve worked tirelessly to care for the sick, treat the injured, comfort the unwanted, and protect the abused. We also offer human-animal support resources, low-cost veterinary services, animal control programs, and animal cruelty and humane law investigation throughout Berks County, Pennsylvania.

The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is committed to making our community a place in which all animals are valued. This means keeping them safe from abuse, neglect and other harmful situations. We investigate all signs of cruelty, neglect, and abuse to all types of animals. This includes responding to calls regarding sick or injured animals.

PAWSITIVELY CATS IS A NO-KILL CAT SHELTER IN TUCSON FOR HOMELESS CATS THAT PROVIDES COMPASSIONATE CARE UNTIL A LOVING PERMANENT HOME CAN BE FOUND. PAWSITIVELY CATS PROMOTES TRAP, NEUTER AND RELEASE (TNR) FOR FERAL CATS. PAWSITIVELY CATS ALSO EDUCATES THE PUBLIC REGARDING SPAY AND NEUTER AND RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP.

Austin Pets Alive! (APA!) is a 501(c)(3) No Kill animal organization that provides the programs and initiatives to directly address the shockingly high, needless euthanasia rates seen in animal shelters in Central Texas and all over the U.S. Since its creation in 2008, APA! has helped Austin become the nation’s largest No Kill city, pushing the cities save rate from 45% to over 98% in only 10 short years. APA! has saved over 10,000 lives, leading the way in developing comprehensive, innovative programs that target and rescue those most at risk of dying in other shelters such as animals with behavioral concerns, many common diseases, and neonatal kittens. Not stopping with this local success, Austin Pets Alive! is committed to helping more communities achieve No Kill status by teaching other rescue groups and shelters about APA!'s innovative and lifesaving programs and by extending APA!'s services to more shelters and pets throughout Texas. In 2018, the organization began building out its Maddie's® Lifesaving Academy, bringing over 400 students annually to its central facility in Austin and to the city's shelter, Austin Animal Center, to learn how to replicate Austin's outstanding success in No Kill practices. Additionally, the academy allows APA!’s expert staff to travel to, consult with, and mentor shelters and groups in other communities in their efforts to become No Kill.

We are an equine rescue whose large ambitions include rescuing horses and donkeys from the feed lots who would otherwise be shipped across the border to be slaughtered for human consumption and use. We provide them with medical attention and most importantly, finding them the loving homes they deserve. Furthermore, we use different community programs to further rehabilitate the horses, who in return help to rehabilitate the individuals in these programs.

The Ocean Cleanup is a non-profit organization developing advanced technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. The Ocean Cleanup has three core approaches to tackling plastic pollution: 1) Clean legacy ocean plastic - Since 2018, The Ocean Cleanup has deployed technologies to remove plastic that has accumulated in ocean garbage patches. It's current system (System 002) has removed more than 225,000 kg of plastic from The Great Pacific Garbage Patch. 2) Turn off the tap: The Ocean Cleanup also develops and deploys Interceptor technologies that prevent plastic from reaching the oceans via rivers, focusing on 1000 rivers that are responsible for 80% of riverine plastic pollution. To date, 19 Interceptor solutions have been deployed across 8 countries. 3) Research: In the process of understanding the problem, The Ocean Cleanup has become a global leader in field research on marine plastic pollution.

The Cleveland APL's mission is to foster compassion and end animal suffering. The Cleveland APL's programs primarily serve Cuyahoga county, but the organization is committed to assisting as many animals and people beyond those borders whenever our resources and capacity for care allow. The animal adoptions program is available to any person who is willing to travel to the Cleveland APL and provide a good, loving home for an animal. By law, the Cleveland APL's jurisdiction for humane law enforcement is limited to Cuyahoga county, Ohio.

The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is a private nonprofit organization whose mission is to build a community where people value animals and treat them with respect and kindness.

Foothills Animal Shelter is dedicated to providing support to our surrounding community through education, services that strengthen the human-pet bond, and humane care for the animals we serve. As a loyal companion of Foothills Animal Shelter, the Friends of Foothills Animal Shelter's sole purpose is to raise direct support for the Shelter and its important mission of saving lives. Friends of Foothills Animal Shelter is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (FEIN 46-2809962). Any donation made helps the homeless pets at Foothills Animal Shelter and is tax-deductible.

Endangered Species International (ESI) is strongly committed to reversing the trend of human-induced species extinction, saving endangered animals, and preserving wild places! ESI uses less than 2% of its budget for management and operations. ESI won multiple Top-Rated Awards from GreatNonprofits and has reached the Platinum participation level through the GuideStar Exchange.
