As Good As Gold is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) rescue that rescues, fosters, cares for, and places Golden Retrievers and golden-mix dogs in permanent homes; it also educates owners and the public about spaying/neutering, positive training, proper nutrition/exercise, humane care, and appropriate veterinary treatment.

The Humane Society of North Central Florida is our community’s leading resource for pets and pet owners. Our mission is to eliminate the needless euthanasia of healthy and treatable pets in North Central Florida. Formerly the Alachua County Humane Society, Gainesville Pet Rescue and Helping Hands Pet Rescue, we joined forces in 2018 to streamline services for pets and the people who love them. Founded in Alachua County over 40 years ago, the Humane Society of North Central Florida is committed to ensuring every healthy or treatable companion animal in our region finds a loving, adoptive home.

Operates a no‑kill animal shelter that rescues, cares for, and rehomes homeless, lost, or injured companion animals; provides adoption and foster services and community education to strengthen the human–animal bond and reduce animal cruelty.

The Berner-Garde Foundation was established to assist in efforts to improve the health of Bernese Mountain Dogs. The BGF is comprised of a voluntary Board of Trustees and other workers. Our efforts are designed to support scientific research into the causes and cures for genetic diseases and general health of our beloved Berners.To support these goals, the BGF:Maintains a computerized database to record information about diseases and general health observed in BMDs. Information in the BGF Database is publicly available online, free of charge to everyone.The BGF, with support from the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America, has established a repository of DNA and tumor tissue from BMDs. BGF supports research studies aimed at reducing the health problems found in Bernese Mountain Dogs

HALTER's mission is to use animals, especially miniature horses, to provide support and enhance the lives of others. This non-profit corporation was founded in August 2001 to train miniature horses as Pet Therapy animals for use by special needs children. HALTER actively participates in programs designed to meet the needs of all children to help them live fuller, happier lives. HALTER also assists at-risk teenagers by offering opportunities to participate in training and riding programs. These programs improve self-confidence, while allowing the opportunity for the participants to help others. As an extension of the at-risk teen program, HALTER provides a supportive, constructive environment for teenagers with court appointed community service to complete their hours of obligation.
