BY BRINGING HUMANS AND ANIMALS TOGETHER IN EDUCATIONAL SETTINGS, WE HOPE TO CULTIVATE A GREATER APPRECIATION FOR THE ANIMALS WITH WHICH WE SHARE THIS PLANET. WE ALSO HELP SPECIFIC ANIMALS IN NEED THROUGH RESCUE ACTIVITIES. OUR WORK IS GUIDED BY THE BELIEF THAT WE ARE A BETTER SPECIES WHEN WE CONNECT WITH OTHER SPECIES ON A PERSONAL LEVEL.

The feline healthcare team at Uniquely Cats® Veterinary Center is motivated by a deep passion for cats — for helping cats to live healthy lives, for helping sick cats to get better, for nurturing the human-feline bond, and for sharing their knowledge and the joy of feline health and happiness. They are dedicated to providing the most thorough, compassionate, and advanced care to each individual cat entrusted to their care. A donation to their Angel Fund will help cat families that are in need of financial support to care for their beloved kitty.

Forget Me Not Animal Rescue is a non-profit, all volunteer organization that believes all animals deserve a forever loving home. It is our mission to protect and improve the lives of abused, abandoned, and homeless animals. We work tirelessly to save and rehabilitate both physically and mentally abused animals. Every animal is given as much time and care as needed. We strive to help and educate the public on the importance of pet sterilization, responsible pet ownership, and the humane treatment of all these wonderful animals”. We accept owner surrenders at our own discretion.

We are dedicated to transitioning retired racehorses into second careers and placing them in the right home. We are based in Central Indiana and have facilities in both Indiana and Ohio. Established in 2005, FFI took its name from famed racehorse Ferdinand who earned four million dollars on the track and won the KY Derby, but was ultimately led to slaughter. Our mission is very clear - To promote equine welfare by providing chances for second careers to retiring racehorses in Indiana, Ohio and throughout the Midwest. We believe that it is a shame that retired racehorses who are sound, have the potential to be sound, have good minds and have options for a second career should face an uncertain future.

Our founder's personal journey serves as a powerful testament to the transformative power of service dogs and the resilience of the human spirit.

Healing Paws for Warriors is a veteran founded / veteran led 501(c)(3) that provides rescue-to trained ADA certified service dogs to veterans faced with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Military Sexual Trauma (MST) at “no cost” to the veteran with continued support. Our team is comprised of a combat medical war veteran, practicing PTSD therapist, professional service dog trainer, a veterinarian, and many other supportive volunteers. Our dogs come only from local rescues. Our service dog trainer teaches the dogs and the veterans as a team. The dogs are not pets, they are service dogs with the complete protection and rights granted by the American with Disabilities Act. Tails of Valor®, Paws of Honor, Inc (TOV) was established in 2014 with a mission to provide rehabilitation through non-medicinal therapies. Our animal assisted therapy rehabilitation programs provide social interactions and human/canine bonding resulting in service dogs able to assist with the physical and psychological issues affecting our Veterans and their families. Our canines can enhance a therapeutic environment which will reduce friction caused when experiencing social activities, thus leading to increased communication and focus. Our staff provides support needed for positive physical and mental health social interactions during training sessions with our canines, all of who are named in honor of a fallen soldier. Support for Veteran and canine are life long.

Shadow’s Fund is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to helping the most vulnerable shelter dogs. Senior dogs, dogs labelled as “pit bulls” and dogs with a treatable injury or illness are often passed over for adoption. We help these forgotten dogs find hope and 2nd chances. Our 3 core programs tackle the problem from every angle. Bright Beginnings is aimed at early intervention and prevention. The Take Me Home Project provides direct rescue and rehoming for shelter dogs. And, for those dogs that need a little extra help, the Sheltering Oak Sanctuary provides a safety net and safe haven. Whether out in the community, or at the sanctuary, Shadow’s Fund is always working to promote responsible and humane animal stewardship.

Our purpose is to undertake rescue operations and to provide essential care for orphaned, stray, abused and special needs cats and dogs.Through rehabilitation, socialization, and adoption, we endeavor to provide a humane service to all animals that come into our care. Additionally, we generate awareness about the prevention of animal abuse and neglect as well as spay/neuter programs and their important effect on the dog and cat overpopulation crisis.Through the years our mission has evolved from just rescue and adoption to community service and educational programs to improve the quality of life to all of the NYC boroughs and Long Island.

We match those in our county who need help, whether citizens, businesses, government entities, or other nonprofits, with volunteers to work on the help needed. We are not a social services agency, and the scope of the work needed has to fall within the guidelines set for our volunteer program. Some types of work needed by citizens are outside of the scope of our work, and we help these citizens find an agency where the client needs to qualify to receive help needed.We will offer our volunteers the opportunity to upload hours served on time sheets, for completed work, to be translated into points. These points can be accumulated and will be redeemable in the form of gifts, just like the Fetch program used for vendor receipt uploads. This program is currently being developed. The Oasis Sanctuary is a Rescue and Retirement facility for exotic birds, predominantly CITES I and II endangered birds. We offer birds a stable and loving home for the duration of their natural lives. We do not sell or breed birds. We do not offer birds for adoption. Many of The Oasis birds come from other rehabilitation and/or adoption programs where qualified personnel determined it was not in the bird's best interest to be placed in private homes. Some of our birds have "special needs", are physically handicapped or challenged requiring unique living or feeding situations. Several have been bounced from home to home, often being physically and/or emotionally abused and have simply become too fearful of people to be companions any longer. A number of The Oasis birds are "retired" breeders, or other birds originally imported for production purposes, which, due to age, infirmity or temperament often would be facing euthanasia. Because many of our birds are not interested in or are incapable of human interaction, they are housed with the same or similar, compatible species in non-breeding pairs or small flocks in large outdoor flights.

Founded in 1902, the mission of the SPCA of Tompkins County is to protect companion animals. We are the first open-admission, no-kill shelter in the country dedicated to preventing animal cruelty and overpopulation. not only do we steward animals, but the environment as well. our “green” shelter, known as the Dorothy and Roy Park Pet Adoption Center, was LEED- Certified Silver in 2004—the first shelter to achieve this status in the united States. our best practices in shelter operations and programs serve as effective examples for other shelters across the country striving to achieve no-kill status. We strive to foster a community in which the need for sheltering abandoned, neglected and homeless and abused animals is diminished; and we work ceaselessly to place medically and behaviorally healthy, treatable or manageable animals in loving homes. We provide leadership in cruelty investigation initiatives, educational outreach, and pet population control. We promote responsible pet stewardship by providing behavioral issues-counseling as needed for adopted animals and their owners, as well as behavior training for shelter dogs to increase adoption rates and ultimately nurture and enhance the human-animal bond.
