The Byrd Theatre Foundation strives to restore and preserve the Byrd Theatre as a grand movie palace, unifying Central Virginia communities by offering diverse cultural, educational and performance opportunities. The Byrd Theatre Foundation works to establish a viable funding plan to support its mission, create a plan for restoration of the Byrd Theatre, improve organizational communication systems to enhance strategic thinking, and develop board members and leaders to support and achieve the Foundation's goals.

The Jamestowne Society was organized for educational, historical, and patriotic purposes, and to that end; to discover and record the names of all living descendents of the earty settlers, and to pay homage to the birthplace of Virginia and the nation.

Surfing Heritage's mission is to preserve, promote and present surfing’s heritage and cultural impact.

Our mission is to broaden and enhance the educational opportunities for children ages 10 and under and to enhance their understanding of the world. The Museum seeks to create an environment that inspires lifelong learning, and supports parents, caregivers and educator's as facilitators of children's explorations. To achieve its mission, the museum builds collaborations and pursues strategies that welcome all families to join in the Stepping Stones learning community. As a multi-dimensional resource in the region, the museum offers exhibits, programs and services that take an interactive approach to promote early learning.

Voice of Witness is a non-profit organization that uses oral history to illuminate contemporary human rights crises in the U.S. and around the world. Founded by author Dave Eggers and physician/human rights scholar Lola Vollen, Voice of Witness publishes a book series that depicts human rights injustices through the stories of the men and women who experience them. The Voice of Witness Education Program brings these stories, and the issues they reflect, into high schools and impacted communities through oral history-based curricula and holistic educator support.

The National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA) is the nation’s leading voice for dignity and fairness for the millions of domestic workers in the United States, most of whom are women. Founded in 2007, NDWA works for the respect, recognition, and inclusion in labor protections for domestic workers. The national alliance is powered by 42 affiliate organizations—plus our first local chapter in Atlanta—of over 10,000 nannies, housekeepers, and caregivers for the elderly in 26 cities and 18 states.
