As members of the Black theatre community, we stand together to help protect Black people, Black talent and Black lives of all shapes and orientations in theatre and communities across the country. Our voices are united to empower our community through activism in the pursuit of justice and equality for the betterment of all humanity. We will not be silent. We will be seen. We will be heard. We are here. Join us.This call to action is just the beginning. It was the latest manifestations of police brutality that galvanized Black Theatre United into being. With roots reaching into all 50 of the United States this coalition can harness invaluable political scope and influence. To elevate a cause or to overturn policies that target black people in any one state or community, the group will draw on members with local connections to use their visibility and influence for good in theater and on the national stage.

National Dance Institute (NDI) was founded in 1976 by New York City Ballet principal dancer Jacques d’Amboise in the belief that the arts have a unique power to engage children of every background, ability, and socioeconomic position, and motivate them toward excellence. Since its founding, NDI has impacted the lives of over two million children...free of charge.

In 1964, internationally acclaimed concert soprano Dorothy Maynor, brought a gift to Harlem – her fervent belief that world class training in the arts stimulates the child, strengthens the family and gives pride of ownership to a community. For nearly a half-century, the Harlem School of the Arts (HSA), a pioneering cultural institution, has transformed the lives of tens of thousands of young people. HSA stands apart among the premier arts institutions in New York City, as the sole provider of quality arts education in 4 disciplines - music, dance, theater and visual arts – in an award-winning 37,000 square foot facility nestled at the base of Harlem's historic Hamilton Heights.  

ENCORE is a non-profit educational theatre company that seeks to build community and transform lives by providing high quality, intensive musical and non-musical theatre training, as well as theatrical performances of all kinds in the South Bay and Los Angeles Harbor areas.

The mission of the St. Petersburg opera company is to enrich the cultural lives of the residents of and visitors to the Tampa Bay area by presenting fully staged professional opera productions of the highest quality, to make opera accessible to diverse audiences through community outreach, expand educational initiatives, and welcome collaboration with other arts organizations.

MISSION The Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network’s (BCAN) mission is to increase public awareness about bladder cancer, advance bladder cancer research and, provide educational and support services for the bladder cancer community.

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) amplifies the voice of the LGBT community by empowering real people to share their stories, holding the media accountable for the words and images they present, and helping grassroots organizations communicate effectively. By ensuring that the stories of LGBT people are heard through the media, GLAAD promotes understanding, increases acceptance, and advances equality.

The Marsha P Johnson Institute protects and defends the human rights of Black transgender people through organizing, advocating, creating an intentional community to heal, developing transformative leadership, and promoting collective power. Their intention is to reclaim Marsha P. Johnson and their relationship as Black trans people to her life and legacy. They were founded in response to the murders of Black trans women and women of color and how it is connected to their exclusion from social justice issues including racial, gender, reproductive rights, and gun violence.
