CVAI - Canadian Vocal Arts Institute

Encounters between singers and teachers are most meaningful in the early stages of a career. Public events bring to light many fascinating aspects of the training of young singers, whose discipline is often compared to that of Olympic athletes. For three weeks, young singers, graduate or postgraduate students at major institutions or young professionals, will receive six hours of daily training through individual and group sessions. The singers wishing to attend the sessions must demonstrate the vocal, technical and musical excellence that is required to take full advantage of the Canadian Vocal Arts Institute program. The sessions are offered to advanced students and young professionals who have shown genuine potential for a singing career. Many singers taking part in the program receive partial or complete grants to offset the costs of the program. Your donation will also be use to help public to discover young artist and to welcome international Master Artist.

MUSICBOX CHILDREN'S CHARITY

MusicBox recognizes the importance of a musical education in a child's development. Music has the capacity to transcend language, social and cultural borders and positively influence other areas of a child's development. MusicBox's music appreciation and individual-lesson programs run in low-income neighbourhoods in Canada, and in other institutions where children are disadvantaged, disabled, ill and therefore unable to partake in a music education. Any interested children of families in these sectors are qualified candidates for the MusicBox Children’s Charity. MusicBox also strives to provide a mentorship program between our volunteer teachers and our child partipants. We provide volunteer opportunities for high school and university students making this a youth-helping-youth initiative, and giving our youth confidence and responsibility. Our programs are administered by a national Board of Directors and regional Chapters run entirely by volunteers.

JARDIN D'ENFANTS DE SUTTON

The Jardin d’enfants de Sutton is a community preschool for children from 3 to 5 years old. Since 1975, the non-profit organization has operated in our community. Managed by a volunteer board of directors elected from among the parents at the beginning of each school year, the organization functions democratically — with an emphasis on family involvement. Board members consult on managerial decisions concerning the preschool and also direct and participate in fundraising activities. From September to May, children are welcomed to the preschool three mornings a week. Two bilingual teachers work together to prepare educational themes to be developed with the children throughout the year, including outings and related activities. The preschool’s objectives include offering children a preparatory education for school, a positive socializing experience and a stimulating environment where children can develop social skills, as well as gross and fine motor skills.
