The San Diego Air & Space Museum is unique to the Southern California region and serves the public through its mission to:Preserve…Inspire…Educate…Celebrate! Preserve significant artifacts of air and space history and technology. Inspire excellence in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Educate the public about the historical and social significance of air and space technology and engage its promise for the future. Celebrate aviation and space flight history and technology.

The museum's official mission statement is "Where stories of military and civilian aviation and March Field come alive." This mission is typically expressed (in publicity, marketing, and internal training materials) as "The March Field Air Museum is a nonprofit educational institution dedicated to promoting an understanding of humanity's reach for the skies and March Field's pivotal role in the development of flight." The museum's slogan is "Reach for the Skies!"

The Autry brings together the stories of all peoples of the American West, connecting the past with the present to inspire our shared future.

The Timken Museum of Art preserves the Putnam Collection of European old masters, American art and Russian icons for the education and benefit of present and future generations of San Diego residents and visitors. Old Cowtown Museum is an educational institution dedicated to preserving and presenting the history of Wichita from 1865 to 1880. The sole mission of Historic Wichita Cowtown Inc. is to support the museum.

The museum provides exhibition experiences and educational programming that connects visitors to the history and lessons of the Holocaust with the goal of combating hatred, promoting understanding, and modeling and inspiring humanitarian choices and actions.

The organization honors Arkansas military veterans and promotes public awareness of their service and accomplishments. It maintains a Hall of Fame (including a display at the state capitol) and holds an annual induction banquet to recognize selected veterans.
