The National WWII Museum in New Orleans tells the story of the American experience in the war that changed the world—why it was fought, how it was won, and what it means today—so that all generations will understand the price of freedom and be inspired by what they learn.

Hawaiian Mission Houses Historic Site and Archives preserves the heritage and interprets the stories of the American Protestant Missionaries, their descendants, and their relationships with the people and cultures of Hawai`i, connecting with contemporary life, and encouraging a deeper understanding and appreciation of the complex history of Hawaiʻi.

Winterthur preserves and interprets the decorative arts and landscapes assembled by Henry Francis du Pont, operating a large historic house museum, a naturalistic garden, and a research library. The institution cares for the collection, conducts scholarship and conservation, and provides exhibitions and educational programs to engage the public with American material culture.

They are working towards the goal of raising enough funding to erect a building to house the City of Owosso’s First Motorized Pumper, a 1921 American LaFrance Pumper (shown above) as a monument dedicated to the firefighters of Shiawassee County that have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. This memorial will also serve as a museum celebrating the rich history of firefighting in Shiawassee County.

The Museum of Prairiefire Foundation (Museum at Prairiefire) is committed to innovative learning in science, the arts and natural history. Through a founding collaboration with the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, as well as with other cultural and educational institutions in the nation, the Museum at Prairiefire is a place that provides ACCESS FOR ALL to understand and celebrate natural history and science in our region and around the world. The MAP engages visitors and students of all ages with world-class exhibitions, important programming, and provides significant educational and STEAM opportunities for underserved children through KC Urban Advantage.
