The mission of the Houston Museum of African American Culture is to collect, conserve, explore, interpret, and exhibit the material and intellectual culture of Africans and African Americans in Houston, the state of Texas, the southwest and the African Diaspora for current and future generations

The DuSable Museum of African American History is a Chicago community institution and the first non-profit Museum dedicated to the collection, documentation, preservation, study and the dissemination of the history and culture of Africans and African Americans. As an educational institution, DuSable attracts school groups from Chicago and surrounding areas. More than 100,000 visitors attend or utilize the facility yearly. Through exhibits, educational programs, the archives, and special activities, the Museum continuously explores the African American experience and accomplishments of the past and present to further advance the education of the future.

The museum preserves and shares the history and cultural contributions of African Americans—with an emphasis on Bucks County—through exhibits, educational programs, community events, and tours. Its work aims to promote understanding of African American history, highlight local and national contributions, and inspire pride and learning across audiences.

To educate the world, preserve the legacy, and celebrate the central role African Americans play in creating the American soundtrack.

The mission of the African American Civil War Museum is to correct a great wrong in history that largely ignored the enormous contributions of the 209,145 members of the United States Colored Troops. It tells the stories and preserves for posterity the historic roles these brave men of African, European, and Hispanic descent played in ending slavery and keeping America united under one flag. The Museum uses a rich collection of artifacts, documents, primary sources and technology to create a meaningful learning experience for families, students, Civil War enthusiasts and historians about the period from the American Civil War to Civil Rights and beyond.

The Wright Museum preserves, researches, and presents African American history and culture to educate and inspire visitors; it runs exhibitions, educational programs, and public events that explore African American experiences and their African origins.

The mission of the San Diego African American Museum of Fine Art (SDAAMFA) is to present and preserve the art of African Americans globally and to broaden the knowledge and understanding of the visual arts in Southeastern California generally and San Diego specifically by collecting, preserving and displaying works of art by and about African Americans; by creating and hosting quality traveling exhibitions; by collecting and preserving fine art and by developing and helping to foster an appreciation of art through meaningful public programs, symposia, and other educational programs.

The mission of the Sankofa African American Diaspora 3D Museum is to create a virtual learning place that showcases rare collections of historical memorabilia from the 1600s to the 2000s. Our goal is to educate children of all ages (K-12, colleges, and universities), including worldwide history buffs. Our Vision We are making the museum come to life and showcasing a bookstore, a gift shop, a live café with local restaurants and fun online to browse. We are providing the opportunity for all to study the fundamental natures of knowledge, reality, and existence while focusing on academic discipline in African American history in New Jersey. The exhibition tells the stories and highlights the culture from the beginning of slavery to the end. Socioeconomic factors and contributions, such as women fighting in World War II, provide insight and inspiration. The focus is on the History of Slavery and the Underground Railroad in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania from the 1600s to the 2000s, with achievements spotlighted regardless of race or nationality.
