Calgary Search and Rescue Association (CALSARA) is a registered charitable organization dedicated to providing fully-trained volunteers to assist local agencies such as City of Calgary Police Service, RCMP, MD of Rockyview, Municipal Police Services, in ground search and rescue operations. We were founded in 1993. When called upon by the authorities to help in a search, our members are ready and able to be deployed into the field within hours. Upon setting up a base camp and command post near the point last seen or last known position, searchers are briefed by our experienced search managers about the subject and circumstances, broken into groups of three or more and spread out around the search area. When located, the individual(s) is stabilized, secured and evacuated from the area.
To improve access to good food, CHEP operates a board range of community food programs including children's meals,the good food box, collective kitchens, community gardening, mini-markets and others. Through partnerships and collaboration CHEP influences the development of healthy food policies.
The London-Middlesex Suicide Prevention Council(LMSPC)is a council comprised of volunteers representing organizations that deliver suicide prevention, support and/or treatment programs as well as survivors of suicide. It has been in existence since 1990. The Council aims to achieve its mission by; * Providing public awareness, education and advocacy in regards to suicide risk and prevention. * Providing opportunities for skill development that addresses suicide awareness, intervention, support and treatment. * Supporting the appropriate allocation of resources to support a full range of consumer-centered services to individuals and families. * Addressing stigma and discrimination experienced by individuals who have attempted suicide or the family members of those who have died by suicide. * Promoting and supporting collaboration among service providers. The Grand Manan Whale & Seabird Research Station (GMWSRS) is a registered charity incorporated in 1981 by its founder, the late Dr. David Gaskin. We are dedicated to research and education which promote conservation of the marine environment. Our researchers study seabirds and marine mammals in the lower Bay of Fundy; and develop & deliver education and stewardship programs through a natural history museum, invited lectures, publications, specific projects, a website and outdoor exhibits. Founded in 1991 by drama critic, director & designer Herbert Whittaker, the museum seeks to preserve, explore and celebrate Canada's performing arts heritage. Besides collecting and preserving artifacts, the museum hosts a series of educational and engaging events under the banner THEATRE MUSEUM GOES BACKSTAGE. With our growing collection of oral history, LEGEND LIBRARY, the museum has recorded R.H. Thomson in conversations with theatre luminaries like Martha Henry, Douglas Campbell and Mavor Moore. We have also presented temporary exhibits at the Toronto Public Library, Harbourfront , Canstage and the Elgin and Winter Garden Centre. Thanks to all our donors who make these initiatives possible.
Take a Hike is an alternative education program that engages at-risk youth through a unique combination of outdoor experiential learning, academics, counseling, and community involvement. The program supports at-risk youth in making positive change in their lives through outdoor expeditions, working through issues, building confidence & improving academic abilities.

To this end, it will provide scholarships/bursaries for qualified Barbadian and /or citizens of the Commonwealth Caribbean who wish to pursue studies in their chosen field with the intention of contribution to the long term development of the region
The Canadian Music Competition gives each year the opportunity to hundreds of young Canadian musicians to showcase their talent through its three-round competition. In short - Some 600 youths, aged 7 to 30 participate every year. - The juries are made up of professional musicians and music pedagogues who are recognized in Canada and abroad. - Up to $100,000 in regional, provincial, and national scholarships are awarded annually. - Hundreds of volunteers accross Canada define the energy, spirit and network of the CMC. We believe the determination and perseverance of CMC participants deserve to be encouraged and supported. By supporting the CMC, you are directly helping young musicians take flight and devote themselves completely to the pursuit of their dreams. You are allowing the future - our future - to blossow.
