Chinmaya Mission Niagara (CMN) has been serving society since the late 1980s. Weekly classes were held from home to home until 1999 when Swami Tejomayananda officially created another chapter to Chinmaya Mission Worldwide. Weekly classes for kids, youth and adults continued in schools for the next few years. However, in August of 2007 CMN moved into its own facility named Chinmaya Dhara or the Flow of Consciousness. Just as there was demand for a centre in Niagara, so too was there demand for a teacher. Born and raised in Niagara, Acharya Vivek turned away from the ordinary pursuits of life and took up the extraordinary path within. Having studied Vedanta at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya in Mumbai, India for over two years under the guidance of Swami Tejomayananda, Vivekji has returned to Niagara to share this ancient wisdom with one and all. Today, all activities are taking place at Chinmaya Dhara and are growing both in quality and quantity!
The BC Sports Hall of Fame is a non profit organization dedicated to inspiring excellence through the stories of British Columbia's sports heroes. The inspiration for the Hall is its honoured members and the collection of artifacts and stories of their challenges and triumphs from over 100 years. We inspire, educate and entertain through our educational programs, entitled the Hero In You. On line lesson plans provide teachers from grades 3 to 7 with curriculum-based content to teach students to set goals, develop a personal plan and puruse their dreams through inspirational stories of our Honoured Members. Field trips provide students and community groups with interactive, experiential tours of our galleries, including the Rick Hansen, Terry Fox, Greg Moore and Olympic Inspiration Galleries. Our On the Road teams share the stories of our heroes and our collection with communities and schools across the province, currently reaching 92% of the school districts in BC.

BCF fosters cooperation and goodwill between Bhutan and Canada in several ways: Our main program is a teacher program, in which we work with the Ministry of Education in Bhutan to send qualified teachers to teach in public schools in some of the most rural parts of the country. Since January 2010, BCF has sent a total of 69 teachers to 39 different communities across Bhutan. These teachers have directly impacted the lives of over 10,800 Bhutanese students. We also offer scholarships for Bhutanese youth to complete secondary education in Canada. Finally, as one of the only North American organizations with a permanent presence in Bhutan, we serve as a cultural liaison for many visitors to the country.
The SGB Youth Literacy Council works to meet the needs of children in the Southern Grey-Bruce area by offering confidential one-on-one tutoring to students with learning difficulties. The tutoring service is available for school-aged children from six to eighteen years who are having difficulty with reading, writing and math. Learners are referred to the SGBYLC by teachers and parents who have noticed the child’s learning difficulties but have found it difficult to help. To serve their needs, we rely upon volunteer tutors from the community. Representatives of the SGBYLC work closely with parents and teachers to match students with volunteer tutors, to offer ongoing training and support sessions to tutors, and to enhance public awareness of the importance of family literacy. The work of our tutors often succeeds in bringing learners up to grade level, giving lasting academic results while boosting the children’s confidence and self-esteem.
SESAT gathers parent, teachers and community stakeholders with the aim to provide volunteer opportunities that benefit the Etobicoke School of the Arts ("ESA"). We support the CSC, whose aim is to put cutting-edge teaching and learning research into practice, and into the hands and minds of preschool and elementary teachers and children. The result is a highly effective approach that harmonizes group project learning with creative and independent thinking. The CSC Parents Society fundraises both to assist with current operational costs and to provide stability and opportunities for growth in the future. Please choose either to support our long term sustainability through a donation to our endowment fund (GEM) or to assist with current operational costs by donating directly to the CSC Parents Society. CSC is an alternative program of Edmonton Public School Board located at Garneau School in Edmonton, Alberta.
