The Grand Manan Whale & Seabird Research Station (GMWSRS) is a registered charity incorporated in 1981 by its founder, the late Dr. David Gaskin. We are dedicated to research and education which promote conservation of the marine environment. Our researchers study seabirds and marine mammals in the lower Bay of Fundy; and develop & deliver education and stewardship programs through a natural history museum, invited lectures, publications, specific projects, a website and outdoor exhibits. The Canadian Constitution Foundation (CCF) acts as a voice for freedom in Canada’s courtrooms and law schools. Through education and litigation, the CCF supports: Individual freedom: the “fundamental freedoms” in section 2 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms: - freedom of association; - freedom of peaceful assembly; - freedom of conscience and religion; - freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression. Economic liberty: the right to earn a living, and to own and enjoy property. Equality before the law: Charter section 15 guarantees equal rights and equal opportunities for all Canadians; special privileges for none.
Lanark County Interval House is a shelter and support network for women and their children who have experienced abuse. We work with women & children across Lanark County Ontario including the towns of Carleton Place, Smiths Falls, Perth, Almonte and all of the rural areas in between. Our emergency shelter accommodates 15 women and children at one time. Here we provide a 24-hr help/crisis line, safety, counselling for both women and children and advocacy to help women navigate systems on her journey to a successful violent-free life. Our Outreach programs provide counselling, advocacy and diverse support groups for women and children affected by abuse and sexual violence. Our public education program provides workshops, presentations, and resources to our communities and schools about violence against women, healthy relationships, and gender roles and stereotypes. We work towards ending the cycle of violence against women and children.

ACCESO International promotes greater access to all levels of education in Latin America, the Caribbean and Canada. It is an incorporated non-governmental organization that is completely volunteer-operated. ACCESO International works in partnership with locally-based and Canadian affiliated organizations to provide support for marginalized children, youth and women so that they can study in their own country, in their own culture and in their own language. ACCESO International provides educational resources to daycares, schools, homework centres, orphanages, libraries and women’s human rights workshops. It also provides individual bursaries for primary, secondary and post-secondary students; the bursaries cover the costs for uniforms, supplies, shoes, packsacks, tuition, transportation, nourishment, health care and lodging. As a testament to our commitment to accountability, ACCESO International ensures that all receipted donations are allocated directly to its education projects.
Westminster House Recovery Centre for Women is a residential treatment centre for women located in the heart of New Westminster, BC. We currently have the capacity to house ten women in our primary care facility, and three women in our second stage facility. Having zero-tolerance of drug use and activity, the program is a beacon and champion for social recovery and has an excellent reputation in the recovery community. Our primary goal: to teach the women a new way of life, free from active addiction so that they can return to their families and to the workplace as productive trustworthy members of society.
Established in 1965, Street Haven was one of the first shelters for women in Toronto. We are dedicated to providing help and support to women in need. We serve women who are abused, homeless, socially isolated and those living in poverty as well as women who come from abusive situations or have mental health, alcoholism and/or addiction challenges. We provide emergency shelter, permanent supportive housing, a drop-in centre & food program, addiction case management, residential addictions programs, education programs and recreational/social opportunities. Women who use our services find ways to improve the quality of their lives.
