The Canadian Constitution Foundation (CCF) acts as a voice for freedom in Canada’s courtrooms and law schools. Through education and litigation, the CCF supports: Individual freedom: the “fundamental freedoms” in section 2 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms: - freedom of association; - freedom of peaceful assembly; - freedom of conscience and religion; - freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression. Economic liberty: the right to earn a living, and to own and enjoy property. Equality before the law: Charter section 15 guarantees equal rights and equal opportunities for all Canadians; special privileges for none.

The Inkwell Theater is a writer’s theater company, dedicated to developing, supporting, and cultivating new plays and playwrights in the Los Angeles community. Focused exclusively on new works, we allow young artists and veterans alike to work in an environment of experimentation, freedom, and collaboration.

The Actors' Gang presents new, unconventional and uncompromising plays and dynamic reinterpretations of the classics; restores the ancient sense of the stage as a shared sacred space; introduces theatre to children and helps them find their own creative voices; and brings the freedom of self-expression to the incarcerated.

Because democracies rely upon a well-educated citizenry, CCLET’s mission is to engage Canadians in developing the habits they need to participate in the democratic process. Among the outreach programmes of the Canadian Civil Liberties Trust are Civil Liberties in the Schools and Teaching Civil Liberties. These programs focus on getting students to ask critical questions about their rights and freedoms. By shining the light of inquiry on unfairness, we begin the process of change. Through CCLET guest speakers, conferences, and workshops for schools and community organizations, participants are engaged in lively discussions about their rights and freedoms and the important legal and civil liberties issues created by a pluralistic society. Particular emphasis is on providing programmes for student teachers, and high school law and social studies students.

The Canadian Battlefields Foundation (CBF) underwrites an annual bursary program for study and research in Canadian military history of the 20th Century and supports and encourages Canadian universities in the teaching of and research into Canada's military operations of the 20th Century. CBF commemorates the service and sacrifice of all Canadians who have served their country in the cause of freedom.

West Coast LEAF works to make British Columbia an equal place for all women by making the promise of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms a reality in women's lives. Our vision of Canadian society is one that ensures women’s equal access to and full participation in social, economic and political activities. Education: We provide speakers and free publications such as the Privacy Handbook, Rights Talk, The Arrest Handbook, Police Complaints and the Citizenship Handbook. Advocacy: We provide direct assistance to individuals who have complaints or concerns about civil liberties violations by government, employers, etc. Common areas of work include police and privacy complaints, free speech and anti-oppression. Policy: We have played a major role in advocating for human rights legislation, police accountability reform, access-to-information and privacy legislation, while also resisting the more draconian anti-terrorism provisions. Litigation: When all else fails, the BCCLA will challenge laws in the courts. We have always fought to preserve freedom of expression in Canada through strategic litigation, such as opposing book bans. Through musical expression, the San Diego Women’s Chorus encourages women’s creativity, celebrates diversity, and inspires social action. The San Diego Women’s Chorus is a non-profit community chorus that strives to entertain and inspire audiences with music that speaks to issues as diverse as human rights, love, world peace, religious freedom, environmental harmony, inclusion and cultural diversity.
