We are the only agency in the City of Kawartha Lakes that provides shelter and counselling services to women and their children. We have a 24 hour crisis line, an 18 bed emergency shelter, an 8 unit apartment complex (rent geared to income) and a gently used clothing store. We have an Outreach counselling program, a Child Witness program, a Community Support program, and a Teen Counselling program for both male and female youths.

OMID’s mission is to support and provide tools to marginalized young women in their journey toward self-empowerment—social, economic and emotional. And to support and grow a community of clinicians, educators, who collaborate to disseminate, and implement optimal trauma treatments for these young women.

Mercy House exists to engage, empower and disciple women around the globe in Jesus’ name. We provide for the rescue of pregnant girls in Kenya and provide a home for them. We empower their families and many others with dignified work so we can redeem future generations. We do this by engaging those with resources to say yes to the plight of women in poverty by empowering women around the world through partnerships and sustainable fair trade product development.

To end hunger and poverty by pioneering sustainable, grassroots, women-centered strategies and advocating for their widespread adoption in countries throughout the world. The Hunger Project carries out its mission through three essential activities: mobilizing village clusters at the grassroots level to build self-reliance, empowering women as key change agents, and forging effective partnerships with local government.

MECA SENDS SHIPMENTS OF AID TO PALESTINE, IRAQ AND LEBANON, AND SUPPORTS PROJECTS THAT MAKE LIFE BETTER FOR THE CHILDREN. WE EDUCATE NORTH AMERICANS ABOUT CHILDREN IN THE REGION. VIBHA's vision is to ensure that every underprivileged child attains his, or her right to health, education and opportunity - VIBHA educates, enables and empowers, individuals and companies, which wish to make a positive impact on the lives of under-privileged children - VIBHA brings together the combined skills and actions of volunteers, donors, social entrepreneurs and NGOs to a common platform to find sustainable solutions to the problems faced by underprivileged children.
