The goals of the Elizabeth Fry Society are to: Provide supportive services and practical assistance to women and young women in conflict with the law or at risk of becoming in conflict with the law. These services are offered in jail, in court, in community and at the agency. Provide information and educate women and young women about criminal justice processes and community resources. Advocate on behalf of women and young women who are incarcerated, in the court system and in the community. Promote community awareness regarding the social conditions that may contribute to women and young women becoming in conflict with the law.

Soroptimist is dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in our local communities and throughout the world.  Founded in 1921, Soroptimist International of the Americas (SIA) is an international organization for business and professional women who provide volunteer service to their communities. About 35,000 Soroptimists in 20 countries and territories contribute time and financial support to community-based and international projects benefiting women and girls. SIA is part of Soroptimist International, which comprises almost 85,000 members in about 120 countries. The name Soroptimist means "best for women," and that's what the organization strives to achieve. Soroptimists are women at their best working to help other women to be their best. Soroptimist members belong to local clubs, which determine the focus of service to their communities. The Raleigh Club is focused on improving the economic independence of women and ending violence against women.  In addition, Soroptimists participate in organization-wide programs that include the Soroptimist Women's Opportunity Awards, Soroptimist Club Grants for Women and Girls, the Soroptimist Workplace Campaign to End Domestic Violence, the Soroptimist Ruby Award: For Women Helping Women, and the Soroptimist Violet Richardson Award.  International projects have included partnerships with Women for Women International, and through Project SIerra, Hope and Homes for Children in Sierra Leone.

Halifax YWCA is a turning point for women. We have served women, young women, and families since 1874. Today the Halifax YWCA provides the following core services: Child Care & Early Learning: Two full service licensed childcare programs and Family Home Day Care (Private family day care providers, fully licensed and supported by YWCA Halifax). Housing - WISH: Women in Supported Housing. 24 units of supported housing for formerly homeless women, HERizons affordable supportive housing for single mothers attending university and SHYM Supportive Housing for Young Mothers. Youth Development - Leadership development programs for young women in 3 locations The Halifax YWCA believes in the power of women to achieve, and a world where women are equal participants and designers of their community, country and world.

YWCA Cambridge is a multi-service agency focusing its programs and services on women and their families in the following areas: Licensed child care, Summer day camp, Women's employment (Small Steps to Success), YWCA Week Without Violence (Power of Being a Girl Conference), Women of Distinction, Community Awareness and Education Programs(International Women's Day, Take Back the Night, December 6 Coalition, Women's Safety Audit Program), Girl's Programming (Body Image and Self-Esteem Workshops, Internet Safety), Social Action and advocacy on issues that impact women and girls.
