Sister Effect exists to honor God by empowering women and girls of South Sudan to lift themselves out of poverty and build lasting peace.

To empower women and their children to live free from violence in their personal relationships by providing support, advocacy, emergency shelter, counselling and public education

Mission: Forging ways for women & girls in extreme poverty to learn, connect and lead. We operate only in places of extreme poverty: villages of South Sudan, Haiti, Malawi, and refugee camps in Kenya and Uganda. Our programs create opportunities for marginalized and displaced women and girls in critical areas: Education: We increase girls' access to education (K-University) through scholarships, extracurricular enhancements, and leadership skills workshops. Advocacy: We train all of our Scholars in leadership and advocacy. As MBB alumnae they use their voices to promote human rights for all, especially marginalized women and girls.

Justice for Girls works to promote social justice and an end to violence, poverty and racism in the lives of teenage girls who are low income or homeless. We fight for social justice based on the feminist belief that young women in poverty are the experts of their own experience. We stand beside young women and provide support and resources to them so that girls can act on their own behalf to create personal and social change. We recognize that girls' lack of institutional power and credibility (because of discrimination) is a real barrier to young women regardless of their skills, intelligence, or ability to articulate their needs.

Leeds & Grenville Interval House is a shelter for abused women and their children. Our Mandate is to provide emergency shelter, supportive counseling, advocacy, information, and referrals for physically, emotionally, and psychologically abused women and their children. We provide a safe, secure, and confidential refuge for women and their children who have been physically, sexually, emotionally or psychologically abused, threatened, or assaulted. In addition to the safe emergency shelter, we also offer a variety of other programs: local and toll-free Crisis Lines, an in-house Children's Program, a Children's Witness Program, Community Outreach, Transitional Support & Housing Program. All services are completely confidential and free of charge. We serve women ages 16 years and over with their children. For the community, we offer Public Education presentations, conduct fund raising events and campaigns, and we have a Volunteer Program.

Girl Up Initiative Uganda aims to provide young women and girls with opportunities to succeed and thrive as leaders in their communities through holistic education and economic empowerment. We envision a world where girls get to reach and tap into their full potential through access to an education, and develop into economically independent, empowered young women who can fully contribute to their families and communities as a whole.

Children: Fondation Lazare offers children the opportunity to get an education, adequate healthcare and nutritious food. Women: We work with women in their communities in order to help them meet their own needs and those of their families as it pertains to shelter, clothing, food, etc. Skills development: Fondation Lazare provides training in ereas such as trades and agriculture in order to help the impoverished gain employment.

We are a respected 35+ year old non-governmental charitable organization providing help and hope to women and families fleeing domestic violence in the B.C.Tri-City communities of Port Moody, Port Coquitlam and Coquitlam, Anmore and Belcarra. Harmony House is a second-stage women's shelter. We provide safe, affordable transitional housing for women and children who are survivors of violence. We are located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Harmony House is the only second stage shelter in Eastern Ontario. At Harmony House, survivors of violence find: • Someone who believes them and will listen • A safe place to live • Other women and children who understand what they are going through • Help finding a lawyer, legal aid, affordable permanent housing and whatever else they may need • Time to rest, think things through and make decisions about the future • A chance to start over
