BC CEAS works to prevent elder abuse and to provide assistance and support to older adults that are, or may be, abused and those whose rights have been violated. We provide programs that educate,support and advocate on behalf of older adults. We also provide information to the public about the legal rights of older adults. We provide support to adults (16 and older), who have experienced sexual violence at any time in their lives. Services are confidential and free of charge. We offer non-judgmental service that respects the right to safety and privacy. We attempt to respond to the needs of all survivors. We recognize that they are diverse in their racial or ethno-cultural background, sexual orientation, physical or intellectual abilities, and other experiences. We will provide information and support so they may make their own choices and decisions. The Diverse Communities Outreach Program offers supportive programming for women from Hamilton’s diverse racial and cultural communities, in particular women who are aboriginal, immigrant and refugees. Bethania Kids (The Bethania Foundation) is a Christian mission that nurtures and equips impoverished, orphaned, abandoned, and differently‑abled children — and supports women and families — in South India. It provides residential homes, care/after‑school centers, rehabilitation services and women’s empowerment programs delivering food, shelter, education, medical care and spiritual support so children and women can build stable, independent lives.
Mercado Global is an ethical fashion brand and nonprofit organization that empowers Mayan women in Guatemala to break the cycle of poverty, using their talent to become rural entrepreneurs. The organization connects women artisans to international retailers including Anthropologie, J. Crew, and Levi Strauss; offers design and commercialization support; and provides classes on entrepreneurship, women's health, leadership, and financial management. Logifem provides shelter and care to women and children in Montreal. The organisation has a 20 bed shelter where women and their children can stay for up to a year as well as several supervised appartments. Logifem opened its doors in 1988.
Everywoman's Health Centre provides abortion services in a supportive, non- judgmental and confidential setting. Our clinic is run by the women who work here with the support of our volunteer board of directors. We treat the women who come here the way we would want to be treated ourselves. The purpose of Everywoman’s Health Centre Society is to support the ongoing operation of Everywoman's Health Centre as a not-for-profit clinic accessible to all women.
