Because democracies rely upon a well-educated citizenry, CCLET’s mission is to engage Canadians in developing the habits they need to participate in the democratic process. Among the outreach programmes of the Canadian Civil Liberties Trust are Civil Liberties in the Schools and Teaching Civil Liberties. These programs focus on getting students to ask critical questions about their rights and freedoms. By shining the light of inquiry on unfairness, we begin the process of change. Through CCLET guest speakers, conferences, and workshops for schools and community organizations, participants are engaged in lively discussions about their rights and freedoms and the important legal and civil liberties issues created by a pluralistic society. Particular emphasis is on providing programmes for student teachers, and high school law and social studies students.

Amnesty International is a worldwide movement of people dedicated to the protection and promotion of human rights. Towards this end: • Amnesty International takes action to stop grave abuses of the rights to physical and mental integrity, freedom of conscience and expression, and freedom from discrimination • Amnesty International seeks to expose human rights abuses accurately and quickly. These findings are publicized, and members, supporters and staff then mobilize persistent public pressure to prevent and stop these violations • Amnesty International promotes public awareness and understanding of the full range of human rights, and we work with a global community of organizations to ensure broad support and respect for all human rights • Amnesty International is governed by its members; we are independent of all governments, political persuasions and religious creeds. We are funded by our members and donors, and no funds are sought or accepted from governments

Education: We provide speakers and free publications such as the Privacy Handbook, Rights Talk, The Arrest Handbook, Police Complaints and the Citizenship Handbook. Advocacy: We provide direct assistance to individuals who have complaints or concerns about civil liberties violations by government, employers, etc. Common areas of work include police and privacy complaints, free speech and anti-oppression. Policy: We have played a major role in advocating for human rights legislation, police accountability reform, access-to-information and privacy legislation, while also resisting the more draconian anti-terrorism provisions. Litigation: When all else fails, the BCCLA will challenge laws in the courts. We have always fought to preserve freedom of expression in Canada through strategic litigation, such as opposing book bans. Living Waters Canada offers a safe place for men and women to discover Jesus as the one who transforms their personal lives and to seek Freedom from their relational and sexual problems. Living Waters Canada provides programs of Worship, teaching, and prayer, facilitated by trained volunteers who lead by example and with respect. Living Waters works as an extension of local Churches that want to see women and men live healthy and holy lives.

Sunrise Therapeutic Riding & Learning Centre is located on a beautiful 102-acre farm in Puslinch Township Ontario (close to both Guelph and Cambridge). Sunrise is a registered charity and has been serving children and adults with special needs since 1982. Unitarian House of Ottawa is non-profit, registered charity. We are an international group of civilian volunteers securing protective gear and life-saving equipment, delivered directly into the hands of those who need it most. We are currently focused on supporting our initiative, Ukraine Aid Ops, where we are securing and delivering protective gear and life-saving equipment into the hands of freedom's defenders on the frontlines in Ukraine. All officers and board are fully unpaid volunteers, so the maximum percentage of donor aid arrives where it's needed most.

Battered Women's Support Services contributes to the freedom and liberation of girls and women from violence and to empower our community through training and education programs. For over 30 years, we have been providing counselling and healing spaces for those who have experienced abuse. To help women build strength and resiliency, we work on systemic advocacy, law reform, in-class youth engagement programs and we operate a social enterprise called My Sister’s Closet in British Columbia. In addition, we support our male counterparts by urging them to own their role in ending violence against girls and women.

Our philosophy of care is that those we support have the same fundamental rights as all Canadian citizens and these rights are to be respected and protected. These rights include: - To enjoy the same freedoms as any Canadian Citizen. - To communicate and to be heard without limitations. - To live as independently, as actively and as full a life as possible. - To be respected and accepted and be allowed to grow and mature as an individual. - To have adequate clothing, shelter and food as well as other basic necessities of life. - To have access to all available physical and mental health care resources required. - To be free from mental or physical abuse. - To develop and strengthen self-esteem. - To safety and security. - To privacy.
