Nature Saskatchewan promotes the appreciation and understanding of our natural environment through education, conservation and research. Founded in 1949, Nature Saskatchewan has been observing, documenting and protecting the province's biological diversity for nearly 60 years. Nature Saskatchewan provides the cultural link by which people are inspired, gain knowledge of and ultimately enjoy and protect the natural world around them.

Sierra Club of Canada Foundation is a national charitable foundation that provides financial support for charitable work to the Sierra Club of Canada. Established in 1972, Sierra Club of Canada Foundation funds a wide range of environmental projects, from scientific research to environmental education. These funds are largely provided by individual donors and foundations who recognize that we all have a right to a safe and healthy environment with clean air, clean water, open space, wild lands and a healthy and diverse ecosystem. While the Foundation is autonomous and governed by its own Board of Directors, it works closely with the Sierra Club of Canada in pursuing its program goals.

In 1969, a small but dedicated group of British Columbians launched a campaign to protect the magnificent forests and lakes of the Nitinat Triangle and West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island. There were no Canadian environmental groups working on forest and wilderness issues at that time, so they joined forces with the US Sierra Club. That energetic group became the first Sierra Club affiliate in Canada, later joining the national Sierra Club of Canada when it was formed. 40 years on, Sierra Club local groups around B.C. defend old-growth forests and ecosystems, help combat global warming and safeguard our clean air and water. Sierra Club BC staff meet regularly with government and business to ensure conservation viewpoints are heard, and to provide input on policy and budget decisions that affect the environment. Our grassroots base, science-based policies and pragmatism have helped to protect millions of hectares of B.C. wilderness.

The Friends work to extend the Botanical Garden's reputation and influence, and have adopted the following objectives: + Promote the Garden's collections and activities + Teach people to know and appreciate indigenous plant life + Contribute to protecting and enhancing the naturel environment

The Objectives of a Horticultural Society are to encourage interest and improvements in Horticulture; - by holding meetings respecting the theory and practice of horticulture - by encouraging the planting of trees, shrubs and flowers on public and private grounds - by promoting balcony and community gardening and outdoor beautification - by arranging field trips, contests, competitions and exhibitions related to horticulture and awarding prizes - by distributing seeds, plants, bulbs, flowers, trees and shrubs - by promoting the protection of the environment - by promoting the circulation of horticultural information through any media - by promoting the benefits of therapeutic horticulture - by stimulating an interest in the study of horticulture.

Site staff restore and maintain these natural habitats and provide trail access through them. Trails range from wheelchair / stroller accessible to gentle inclines to rocky climbs. Trained naturalists offer education programs that bring land and people together on intimate terms; they inspire and guide visitors in understanding and appreciating the natural world. Here land is for learning and we have a wonderful outdoor classroom every season of the year. Our Nature House with live creatures, educational exhibits and trained staff provide the opportunity for people to explore and discover the wonders of nature on their own. Drop in and experience the restorative powers of nature, write a letter, or watch the hummingbirds feed. Rain or shine this is a spectacular place to relax.

The Bruce Trail Conservancy is a charitable, membership based, volunteer organization. It is the only charitable organization working to preserve public access to the Niagara Escarpment while restoring its natural habitat.

Toronto Botanical Garden encourages, stimulates and teaches countless adults and children with its innovative urban-scale garden plantings, nature-centred educational programs and environmentally-friendly practices. We look beyond our borders to create strategic alliances that support our mission, extend our reach and strengthen our influence within the community. TBG relies on the support of individuals, corporation and foundations. Over 95% of our operating budget is self-generated income through course revenues, membership fees, special events and through the generous support of many donors. Collectively, we are able to educate over 6,000 children and 10,000 adults on important environmental and horticultural issues that affect our community.

The Clean Nova Scotia Foundation (commonly known as the Clean Foundation) is a not-for-profit organization that provides education-based programs and services to help people consider the environment in the choices they make. We offer a host of programs, services, and resources, focused in the areas of water stewardship, youth education, energy efficiency, waste reduction,and sustainable transportation. Founded in 1988, Clean is proud to provide leadership and knowledge in environmental practices and sustainability development.

With a thirty-four year history, the Conserver Society of Hamilton & District Inc.(a grass roots education and action organisation on environmental issues), grew out of CHOP (Clear Hamilton of Pollution) which started in 1969. Past activities have included: composting programmes, bicycle paths, reduction of excess packaging, environmental education, and reduction of pesticide use. Board Committees have also participated in regional waste-management, air quality and transportation initiatives. The Society established an Environmental Trust, now known as the Ed Smee Environmental Trust and the Environmentalist of the Year Awards. The Friends of Algonquin Park was established in 1983 as a non profit registered charity. The Friends operate as a cooperating association under an agreement with the Ontario Parks to enhance the educational and interpretive programs in Algonquin Park. This is accomplished by developing and reprinting Park-related publications, and funding Park projects through the proceeds from sales at The Friends' two bookstores in the Park, private donations, and various fundraising efforts. The activities of The Friends of Algonquin are coordinated by a volunteer Board of Directors who reside in different parts of Ontario. Since its establishment, The Friends has grown to a membership of over 3000 people, and continues to attract support from around the world.
