Earth Rangers is a registered charity which educates children about the importance of biodiversity and inspires them to adopt more sustainable practices to protect endangered habitats and species. Earth Ranger’s operates in schools and communities across Ontario, and through a permanent studio at the Royal Ontario Museum. Our programs have been doubling in size every year, and in 2009, will expect to reach 350,000 children and their families. Launched in May 2009, earthrangers.com is Canada’s largest online community of environmentally minded children. With the help of environmentally themed information and eco-feat projects, children are able to interact with their friends and make a real difference. In 2010, Earth Rangers will launch the “Bring Back the Wild” program, an individual fundraising program in which children will raise money to protect endangered habitats across the country.

Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) is the leader in wetland conservation. A registered charity, DUC partners with government, industry, non-profit organizations and landowners to conserve wetlands that are critical to waterfowl, wildlife and the environment. • DUC has 139,000 grassroots supporters across the country, including 6,200 volunteers. • DUC was established in 1938 by conservation-minded waterfowlers who recognized the importance of wetlands. DUC is proud of its waterfowling heritage. • DUC has 75 years of experience conserving wetlands. DUC is part of a larger Ducks Unlimited family, which includes Ducks Unlimited in the United States, Mexico and New Zealand.

CORE VALUES As the voice of anglers and hunters, the OFAH will professionally represent Ontario’s anglers and hunters, their hunting and fishing rights and traditions, and their passion for hunting and fishing, and for fish and wildlife conservation. The OFAH supports, and will seek to enhance, Ontario’s rich traditions of hunting and fishing, and the quality of life they represent. The OFAH will promote, encourage, and seek to ensure the conservation of Ontario’s fish and wildlife, their habitats, and the ecosystems that support them, to ensure continuing benefits to anglers and hunters, and by extension, to all of the people in Ontario. The OFAH will encourage, conduct and lead proactive fish and wildlife management, individually and in cooperation with others, to ensure the conservation of resources, the protection and enhancement of our hunting and fishing heritage, and the provision of benefits to meet the needs of Ontarians.

Access to clean energy and light creates a healthy and safe home environment, enhances opportunities for education and contributes to economic development by increasing disposable income and encouraging entrepreneurship. Working in some of the most remote and undeserved areas in the world, LUTW provides technical training and builds the capacity of local service providers to transition away from unhealthy fuels and disposable batteries for energy and light. Second Harvest is the largest food rescue program in Canada. Since 1985, Second Harvest has been picking up donated, excess food, which would otherwise go to waste, and delivering that food to community agencies in Toronto. Every day, Second Harvest delivers enough food to provide 20,000 meals to over 200 community agencies in Toronto.

DARE (Drug & Alcohol Recovery & Education) Network is a grassroots national NGO. DARE Network provides culturally appropriate non-medical treatment & prevention education to reduce substance abuse & associated social issues within the communities of displaced ethnic people from Burma, along the Thai/Burma border. DARE Network envisions the strength of ethnic people from Burma to use the power of recovery from addiction as a non-violent means to resist oppression. A Free Mind Cannot Be Destroyed.

Rare Breeds Canada envisions a future where Canadians are aware of their agricultural heritage and are involved in the preservation of endangered breeds of farm livestock and poultry, both nationally and internationally. This involvement will be through a broad spectrum of sustainable Canadian farms, which are economically and ecologically responsible, viable over the long term and will not deplete their resource base. In this vision, the gene pool will be preserved in the form of living animals as well as in gene banks.

We are focusing our conservation efforts on the Tambopata River Basin region of the Amazon Rainforest. Many scientists consider this area to be one of the world's richest ecosystems in terms of biodiversity. Furthermore, this area may have the last and final block of intact tropical rainforest land in the world.
