We help install and monitor barrier fencing and culverts to reduce road mortality of amphibians in coastal British Columbia. We monitor how well these mitigation efforts work to improve habitat connectivity. We also help protect wetlands from habitat destruction, pollution, invasive species, and disease. We share information and promote stewardship of wetland habitats through public slideshows, workshops, school programs and by providing scientific advice to land owners and local planning departments. We highlight the connection between productive wetland habitat, water quality and human health in our presentations.

The Oldman Watershed Council, or OWC, is a community-based, not-for-profit that works with everyone to find practical solutions to environmental challenges that impact us all. People depend on a healthy environment but we also need a healthy economy and we have social and cultural needs too. Everything is connected so we must work together to make trade-offs, solve problems, plan for the future and have the quality of life we want right now. It takes time and effort to work collaboratively but OWC is building a new way of managing our water and land where we all do our part, work together and think long term. We believe it's worth the investment.

COMMUNITY HEALTH, HOUSING AND SOCIAL EDUCATION (CHHASE), TAMIL NADU Background Community health, housing and social education (CHHASE) NGO is involved in social work for Scheduled castes, Scheduled tribes, other backwards classes and under privileged. Team of youth, who have passion in social service and compassion towards the sufferings of the disadvantaged sections of the society, came together and formed CHHASE. Our team have clear insight in the socio-economic, education, health and environment issues faced by the downtrodden, under privileged and marginalized segments of the communities. CHHASE NGO India is a non-governmental, non-profit, social service voluntary organization working for an integrated development of women and children of downtrodden segment of the society. CHHASE NGO believes that all human beings are equal and has the right to have good health, shelter, food and minimum standard of living. CHHASE NGO has touched new heights by Regular Activities to fulfil the mission of organization. Our executive committee oversees all the organization's efforts. The committee meets regularly to ensure that all of our teams perform efficiently and to facilitate cross-functional connections. Blue Dragon Children's Foundation is on a mission to end human trafficking.We have pioneered interventions in Vietnam which prevent trafficking from taking place and are scaling them up to a national level. At the same time, we are rescuing people in slavery who call for help and supporting them to rebuild their lives, post-trafficking.We offer a comprehensive range of services led by our dedicated team of social workers, psychologists, teachers and lawyers. From providing food and shelter to a child on the street to rescuing a girl from sex trafficking, we give children a new chance in life. Blue Dragon has been operating in Vietnam since 2003.

We work to conserve Huronia's non-renewable natural and cultural heritage between Georgian Bay and the City of Barrie and between the City of Orillia and the Town of Wasaga Beach. Huronia Land Conservancy: - Works cooperatively with private landowners, government and community groups. - Preserves species at risk and key natural habitats. - Conserves archaeological sites highlighting Huronia's 11,000 years of human history. - Safeguards the region's drinking water by protecting areas of groundwater recharge. - Creates key corridors and buffers between existing park and conservation lands. - Supports scientific and archaeological research. - Stresses the importance of education in heritage conservation. - Contributes to the aesthetic preservation of the Huronia landscape.

Our mission is to combat chronic hunger and malnutrition. Bearing in mind the Buddha’s statements that “hunger is the worst kind of illness” and “the gift of food is the gift of life,” we sponsor projects that promote hunger relief for poor communities around the world. We pursue our mission by: providing direct food aid to people afflicted by hunger and malnutrition helping develop better long-term methods of sustainable food production and management appropriate to the cultures and traditions of the beneficiaries promoting the education of girls and women, so essential in the struggle against poverty and malnutrition giving women an opportunity to start right livelihood projects to support their families. We also seek to raise awareness of global hunger and advocate for an international food system that exemplifies social justice and conduces to ecological sustainability.

Access to health care and quality education are necessary means to alleviate the burdens of poverty. The primary focus of Equal As One is to provide initial assistance to poverty-stricken communities to setup healthcare centers and schools, then help these communities organize to sustain these institutions themselves. Equal As One embraces interdependence as a fundamental philosophy of life; no matter how absolute, separate or self-sufficient, people or aspects of life may seem, everything and everyone depends on something else. This philosophy inspires us to view every human being as equal, and as kin. They need each other. This will be the philosophy they hope to promote as we bring community members together to build sustainable and enduring institutions that add value to their lives.

WWS is dedicated to preserving and promoting a harmonious coexistance between humans, wildlife and nature. WWS maintains a year-round wildlife rehabilitation facility where all injured and orphaned animals are accepted, rehabilitated and appropriately released back into their natural habitats. Wildlife that is deemed non releaseable may find sanctuary at WWS, and be considered for the WWS Educational Program, that is conducted for local schools, organizations and interest groups. Wildlife rehabilitation is a full-time labour of love that is not funded by the government or any of its agencies. Our on-going endeavours to promote awareness and responsibility for our native wildlife and to rehabilitate the orphaned and injured, are supported solely by public, private and corporate donations.
