The Cumberland Community Forest Society is dedicated to protecting threatened forest lands surrounding the historic Village of Cumberland on Vancouver Island. This lush closed canopy forest is a rich ecosystem filled with unique plants and animals, multi purpose trails, heritage landmarks and more. The Cumberland Forest is a much beloved forest and an integral part of our community used by families, hikers, mountain bikers, bird watchers, runners, photographers and more. The Cumberland Forest is also part of an important habitat corridor that runs from Comox Lake right to Baynes Sound.The community of Cumberland has been working to purchase these privately held forest lands since 2000 to save them from destruction. We do this through an incredible variety of community fundraising events, a robust monthly donor program, grants and foundations, one time donors and crowd funding campaign like this one!

2 billion people suffer from malnutrition because their diets lack key vitamins and minerals. Sanku combats malnutrition and saves lives by giving small mills the tools they need to add vital nutrients to maize flour, a staple of the East African diet. Our innovative technology adds precise levels of nutrients into flour during processing and our business model offsets the cost of the nutrients added. Millers don't need to charge extra for their nutritious flour and families can afford to buy and eat healthy food everyday. Our mission: guarantee that every meal consumed by every mother and child contains live-saving nutrients, forever. To date, we have given 2.5 million East Africans access to the basic human right of nutritious food and we are on track to reach 25 million people by 2025.

Project Aid & Rescue is a team of international volunteers that have come together to alleviate the suffering of the Ukrainian people by providing aid and resources to those in need. Whether that is by providing hotel rooms for recent refugees; medicines, food, and supplies to those still inside Ukraine; evacuations of those who no longer have a safe place to live; or tactical first aid supplies, Project Aid & Rescue works with its partners, volunteers and donors to provide the needed humanitarian aid and support. The Mission of CDRS is to provide emergency relief, healthcare and logistics services in response to large disasters and to improve the health, education and social welfare status of communities by: 1) Providing comprehensive, competent, and compassionate humanitarian aid during times of disaster, deploying to the disaster zone as soon as possible 2) Providing sustainable and affordable quality healthcare services 4) Providing comprehensive preventive health education programs and clean water projects 5) Working with local communities to help them take a leadership role in managing their healthcare needs in partnership with the existing healthcare system 6) Provide Empowerment and Education Projects for women and youth in poor and neglected areas

Placing challenging and high goals, as well as taking the necessary risks to go beyond all the fatalisms that surround us. Excellence. All of our work must be of high quality, given that it is intended for those less fortunate. Our work is rigorous, punctual, always creative and innovative. It is respectful of the commitments, perseverant in the face of difficulties, intelligent to recognize mistakes and correct them, and proactive in the search for solutions to the problems that arise along the way. We are sure that our differences are an asset in joining forces for that which unites us: the fight against extreme poverty in our continent. Optimism. In a nutshell, we’re a group of friends who share a common desire to keep Melissa’s Hope going, now, and well into the future. Please feel free to contact any one of us with questions and ideas. Melissa’s Hope is a rare and wonderful place. Its a positive and busy community that feels a lot like summer camp. Visiting Melissa’s Hope feels good because its run by good people who treat the orphans, students, and day campers with respect and great care. Its also an expensive place to run. Right now, people who know Melissa’s Hope are raising money where they can to keep it going, but its month by month with practically no reserve. Its a fragile state that we intend to change. MHF is a volunteer organization. We established MHF with our own time, energy, and money, so donations are NOT subject to any overhead or expenses. Every dollar of every donation goes directly to Melissa’s Hope.

Breast Cancer Action Montreal (BCAM) is a non-profit activist/advocacy group directed by women who have been sensitized to the trauma of breast cancer (affecting themselves or someone close to them) and who are committed — long-term — to erasing the disease. The focus of breast cancer research must move beyond its current emphasis on treatment to also embrace a serious search for the causes of the disease and its prevention. BCAM promotes and supports the adoption of the Precautionary Principle as a guideline for action. The Precautionary Principle is a safety-first premise that states that, when there are reasonable scientific grounds for believing a process or product may not be safe, even when cause-and-effect relationships are not fully understood, preventive action must be taken.

Rescue and care for orphaned and destitute children of Honduras. WWH2H was started in response to the devastation left in the wake of Hurricane Mitch in 1998. Countless children were left homeless or without families. The WWH2H Children’s Village began construction in 2001 in Tegucigalpita, Honduras and opened its doors in 2003 to care for and raise the children God brings to our gates, equipping them to become responsible adults and productive citizens in the country of Honduras. We also provide medical/dental care to those in need in our community and facilitate volunteer Medical, Dental, Crusade, Vacation Bible School, Youth, Construction, Maintenance, Letter Writing, Women’s Conference, and Pastor’s Conference teams traveling to Honduras to support our efforts.

The Redondo Beach Police Foundation RBPF is an independent, 501c3 nonprofit organization that serves as a community partner to the Redondo Beach Police Department to help make Redondo Beach, the most innovative and safest city in the region. By providing resources and support to the Redondo Beach Police Department, the Foundation plays a critical role in taking public safety beyond what our government tax dollars will allow. Technology is rapidly evolving and equipment gets worn. Community policing through innovative and creative programs and initiatives require funding. The Redondo Beach Police Foundation issues grants to our local police department so our men and women in blue have the best training, equipment and programs to perform at their highest level.

HHP is a California-registered 501(c)(3) charity founded in 2005 to fund primary care services through a medical clinic in the rural area of Grande Colline. Our clinic in Cherident is staffed by an all Haitian medically-trained team that treats 4.000 patients each year, mostly women and young children. Many patients walk as long as four hours to receive vaccines, antibiotics, other medicines and a peanut-based supplement for infant malnutrition (medika mamba). In the United States, we are a 100% volunteer organization so that all of our donations can be maximized where they matter most: in Haiti.  Over 90% of our current donations go directly to the clinic's expenses.
