Humanity for Children is committed to improving the quality of life for children in remote areas of East Africa through community-based, sustainable initiatives that empower individuals and positively affect health, education, safety, and economic conditions.

Mission: SHINE Humanity's mission is to provide compassionate and sustainable preventive and primary healthcare to the underserved by collaborating with key partners. Goal: SHINE Humanity's goal is to improve the health status of underprivileged and crisis-stricken communities by providing support for: * Sustainable, affordable, and quality healthcare services. * Under-funded and/or damaged public healthcare infrastructure. * Staffing, resource, and management gaps in the healthcare system. *Comprehensive training and public education campaigns. *Communities to manage and fund their own long-term healthcare needs. We believe that a strong primary healthcare system goes a long way in detecting diseases early on, reducing chances of hospitalization and disease progression, thus alleviating the burden on our fragile healthcare system.

Our mission is to improve people's lives by providing access to electricity and fostering the development of sustainable businesses. Our volunteers offer mentorship and resources to empower less economically developed communities for lasting change.

We build simple, decent homes using donations of financial support, building materials and time that are all generated through the local community. After investing hundreds of hours to build their homes and those of their neighbours, our families assume no-interest, no down-payment mortgages that reflect the market value of the home. Monthly mortgage payments are continually reinvested into future home construction. Habitat for Humanity’s success rests in its fundamental belief that a community can create its own solutions for those in need by coming together to provide a hand up — not a handout. Habitat for Humanity provides the framework to build homes for families and hope for generations.

Humanity for Relief and Development (HRD) is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) charity that focuses on food security and emergency relief for people affected by conflict (especially in Yemen). It runs bakery and meal programs (Mercy Bakery/Mercy Kitchen) and related humanitarian projects to provide daily bread, warm meals, and basic assistance to vulnerable families.

The Vancouver Humane Society is an animal charity working locally, provincially and nationally and funded primarily by public donations. We do not operate an animal shelter; rather we work on the underlying problems of animal abuse by exposing animal cruelty to the public and informing individuals how their choices impact animals. Our primary areas of work are: animals in entertainment (zoos, rodeos, circuses, the film industry, sled dog operations); animals on factory farms (caged egg-laying hens, "broiler" or "meat" chickens, and other intensive confinement systems via our 'Eat Less Meat' project); and companion animals, including spay/neuter and emergency veterinary medical assistance for pet guardians on limited income. VHS is one of the few animal organizations that encourages vegetarianism, as not eating animals is the most effective way to stop animal suffering. Habitat for Humanity is an inclusive, non-profit, non-government organization dedicated to eliminating poverty housing by building homes in partnership with families in need. Habitat builds simple, decent, affordable houses and provides interest-free mortgages to families who would otherwise not be able to purchase their own home. The Habitat for Humanity program is about home ownership and providing a long-term solution designed to break the poverty cycle.
