VISION: To enable all visually impaired children, adults, their families and caregivers to reach their optimal potential through providing early childhood development, independence development, wellness programmes; and to care for and protect the rights of those who, due to circumstances beyond their control, are unable to do so themselves. MISSION: To provide an all encompassing independence development and prevention of blindness service that ensures the successful integration of all visually impaired persons into society.
The general mission of the entity is to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia and also the quality of life of their family members and primary caregivers. The main activity of the entity is what constitutes the non-pharmacological treatment of people with cognitive and/or physical-functional impairment due to a neurodegenerative disease or an acute process such as a stroke (vascular brain accident). The needs of the affected group consist of therapeutic care, home care, psychological care for caregivers and the population's awareness of the consequences of these diseases, as well as prevention in the vulnerable healthy population. Non-pharmacological treatments are essential in dealing with said affects and their consequences, in addition to being able to attend to family members, training and informing them specifically so that they can have a better quality of life. The general activity forms different itineraries of care from phases in which the disease has not manifested itself such as preventive actions and different actions during the evolutionary process of the disease according to the different phases that can be manifested by modifying the attentions to the specific needs of each of these phases: initial, moderate and advanced
Turning Point is a Christian charity working in the Nairobi slums. Our mission is to demonstrate God's heart for the poor through programmes that relieve poverty, transform lives and restore hope amongst vulnerable children and their families.We offer a holistic range of programmes which provide children with access to education, healthcare and regular meals, in addition to providing them with psycho-social support. We also operate pioneering prevention projects aimed at supporting families.
As a registered charity, the Children’s Aid Foundation raises funds for programs of the Children’s Aid Society and other child welfare organizations that support children in three critical areas: Education programs that give children a chance to pursue their dreams and build successful lives for themselves, Enrichment programs that provide recreational and cultural opportunities so that disadvantaged children can experience healthy development, and Prevention programs that provide support for families before abuse and neglect begin.
