Garden State Equality Education Fund

Established in 2004, Garden State Equality (GSE) is the largest LGBT education and advocacy organization in New Jersey and one of the most successful statewide civil rights organization for the LGBT community in the nation. Our services include advocacy, policy work, and trainings. Our signature programs are: Map & Expand, Pledge & Protect, and Teach & Affirm. In collaboration with community partners, Garden State Equality led efforts to ensure nondiscrimination for transgender people and gender nonconforming people in New Jersey, we passed the most comprehensive anti-bullying law in the country, ended sexual orientation and gender identity/expression change efforts in New Jersey (sometimes called conversion therapy), and brought marriage equality to the Garden State! All our current work is informed by racial, economic, and disability justice concerns. We are working to address safe environments for youth, improvement of health services that meet LGBT community needs, and respectful treatment of seniors. Beyond that, Garden State Equality supports New Jersey's activist community by bringing an LGBT lens to the shared struggle for justice. Garden State Equality Education Fun, Inc. is a member of the Equality Federation, a non-profit under the IRS Code Section 501(c)(3), and has achieved a platinum seal of transparency from Guidestar (See https://www.guidestar.org/profile/20-2588166).

Canadian Civil Liberties Education Trust

Because democracies rely upon a well-educated citizenry, CCLET’s mission is to engage Canadians in developing the habits they need to participate in the democratic process. Among the outreach programmes of the Canadian Civil Liberties Trust are Civil Liberties in the Schools and Teaching Civil Liberties. These programs focus on getting students to ask critical questions about their rights and freedoms. By shining the light of inquiry on unfairness, we begin the process of change. Through CCLET guest speakers, conferences, and workshops for schools and community organizations, participants are engaged in lively discussions about their rights and freedoms and the important legal and civil liberties issues created by a pluralistic society. Particular emphasis is on providing programmes for student teachers, and high school law and social studies students.

SPIRITUAL HERITAGE EDUCATION NETWORK INC

Spirit being the antonym of matter, the spiritual realm is inclusive and unitive, while the material realm is exclusive and separative. The more spiritual is a thing, the more inclusive and universal it is. Spiritual light dispels darkness is the operating principle of SHEN. There exists a large amount of ignorance born out of misunderstandings of what religion truly teaches. Religion is a two-faced institution. One unites and the other divides. Religion is founded upon one unseen spiritual reality underlying the entire universe. This reality connects us all and defines the unifying face of religion, its core spirituality. Religion also confines this infinite reality in finite forms rendering somebody's God less Godlike, somebody's prophet less prophetic, and another’s community less righteous and deserving. This is the divisive face. Spiritual Heritage Education Network Inc. proposes to use the unifying face to dull the edge of the divisive one.
