The Grand Manan Whale & Seabird Research Station (GMWSRS) is a registered charity incorporated in 1981 by its founder, the late Dr. David Gaskin. We are dedicated to research and education which promote conservation of the marine environment. Our researchers study seabirds and marine mammals in the lower Bay of Fundy; and develop & deliver education and stewardship programs through a natural history museum, invited lectures, publications, specific projects, a website and outdoor exhibits. Lanark County Interval House is a shelter and support network for women and their children who have experienced abuse. We work with women & children across Lanark County Ontario including the towns of Carleton Place, Smiths Falls, Perth, Almonte and all of the rural areas in between. Our emergency shelter accommodates 15 women and children at one time. Here we provide a 24-hr help/crisis line, safety, counselling for both women and children and advocacy to help women navigate systems on her journey to a successful violent-free life. Our Outreach programs provide counselling, advocacy and diverse support groups for women and children affected by abuse and sexual violence. Our public education program provides workshops, presentations, and resources to our communities and schools about violence against women, healthy relationships, and gender roles and stereotypes. We work towards ending the cycle of violence against women and children.

Westminster House Recovery Centre for Women is a residential treatment centre for women located in the heart of New Westminster, BC. We currently have the capacity to house ten women in our primary care facility, and three women in our second stage facility. Having zero-tolerance of drug use and activity, the program is a beacon and champion for social recovery and has an excellent reputation in the recovery community. Our primary goal: to teach the women a new way of life, free from active addiction so that they can return to their families and to the workplace as productive trustworthy members of society.
