Manitoulin Family Resources Inc. is a multi-service agency providing a wide range of programs to Manitoulin Island, Espanola and the North-east shore of Lake Huron. All of our services are free and confidential We provide programs for children and their families including Licensed Child Care, Resource Centres, Early Learning activities, mobile play sessions, toy and equipment lending, information and referral and parenting support. Our programs for women and their children include a 10 bed shelter for women escaping abuse, safety planning, short and long term counselling, mobile services including outreach to schools, referral and transitional support. Our Crisis Line is toll free in Northern Ontario and is open to women, men and youth in crisis. MFR also operated the Manitoulin Helpo Centre, which provides food to those in need onManitoulin Island, as well as clothing and sometimes furniture.

We believe that some things in life should never change...like healthy rivers and lakes, peaceful natural areas, forest walks and safe havens for birds, fish and wildlife. Since 1970, the Conservation Foundation has protected these places of natural beauty, environmental value and spiritual replenishment right here at home in the Rideau Valley of Eastern Ontario.

Rose of Sharon Services for Young Mothers is a not-for-profit, charitable organization providing support and educational services to prenatal and parenting young women under the age of 25 across York Region. Since 1985, we have given young mothers the opportunity to work towards their goals in a supportive, learning-centered environment while parenting their young children. With the generous support of our community, we are able to enhance the lives of young women and their families. We are the only agency providing these services in the region and the need for our services continues to grow each year.

AASEE is dedicated to advancing science and engineering education at the K-12 level. We work directly with students in the classroom. AASEE designs curriculum-based and fun hands-on activities through collaborative research, where we try to ensure a maximum engagement of teachers and parents along with the students. We provide training and resources to pre-university educators. We also create opportunities for the students to learn directly from experts and leaders in the respective fields. AASEE gives priority to diverse populations, namely Canada’s first nations peoples, girls, and those in financial need, as well as rural populations. We are mandated to work across the globe, and are implementing an ambitious plan. At AASEE we target tomorrow´s leaders in science and engineering who will be working with a true passion. We believe advancing science and engineering education is the right way to go, and the right thing to do.

Paracademia Center is a Harlem-based music and collaborative arts nonprofit that develops performances, festivals, workshops and education programs to support artistic growth. It especially focuses on providing performance, professional and learning opportunities for immigrant women, youth, and emerging artists.

However a culture defines it, literacy touches every aspect of individual and community life. It is an essential foundation for learning through life and must be valued as a human right. Our primary program is a one-to-one tutoring program that matches trained volunteer tutors with adult learners, to help them meet their literacy goals. The Lea Roback Foundation awards each year scholarships to women of all ages who are in financial difficulty and yet socially committed, so they can realize their plans to go to school. Because it doesn’t have an office or staff, all donations go directly to those in need.
