Laguna Parent Participation Preschool's mission is guiding and teaching parents and children the joy of self-discovery, experimentation, and the power of learning, since 1975.

Familias En La Escuela (FELE) believes that parent participation - in both the classroom and organizational structures of the school - improves the educational experience of all children and the quality of the Chicago Public Schools. FELE supports the mission of IAMS by: Providing and promoting opportunities for parent involvement Enhancing communication between the school and the home Raising funds sufficient to support and, ideally, enlarge extra-curricular programs Functioning as parent and student advocates. All our activities are undertaken in close collaboration with the school faculty, administration and staff.

PRESCHOOL AND ELEMENTARY EDUCATION

Peopleplace is a cooperative preschool where parents are partners in the education of their child. Their programs are inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education.

At Shalom School, the warmth and rapport between teachers and children create classrooms of curious learners. They are developing critical thinking skills, socially appropriate interactions, Jewish pride and love for living a Jewish life.

Our preschool environment aims to maintain and reinforce our children’s Spanish home language and create a school where parents and children experience collective participation, ecological responsibility, holistic health, and progressive social consciousness. We believe that the experience of diversity (diversity of race, gender, ethnic origin, economics and opinion) creates a rich learning environment and is necessary preparation for living in a diverse world. By cherishing ethnic differences and supporting economic diversity, we create a community that encourages global awareness and social responsibility.
