The organisation reflects its members' shared concern for the future of humanity and the planet. The association sees its task as acting as an independent, global catalyst for change. The objectives of the Association are therefore: to identify the key issues that are critical to the future of humanity; to evaluate alternative scenarios for the future and assess risks, choices and opportunities through integrated and forward-looking analyses; to develop and propose practical solutions to the identified challenges; to communicate new insights and knowledge from these analyses to decision-makers in the public and private sectors, as well as to the wider public; to stimulate public debate and effective action to improve the prospects for the future of humanity and the planet. The Association's activities are guided by the following three complementary principles: 1. the need to adopt a global, systems-oriented perspective in analysing the problems facing the modern world, recognising that the increasing interdependence of nations and the globalisation of previously local problems create challenges that are beyond the capacity of individual countries. 2. the need for a comprehensive, holistic approach in order to gain a deeper understanding of the complexity and interconnectedness of both current problems and practical solutions, in political, social, economic, technological, environmental, psychological and cultural terms, which the association refers to as the 'world problematique'. 3. the need to emphasise transdisciplinary and long-term perspectives, which are all too often neglected by governments and other decision-makers, and to focus on those decisions, strategies and measures that will determine the fate of present and future generations. The aim is to arouse public interest and provide responsible decision-makers with a solid basis for formulating and implementing future-oriented measures. The association does not pursue any commercial purposes and does not seek to make a profit.

Every day, lives are changed by a single, selfless act - the gift of organ donation. Among those waiting for transplants are 2 groups of people: those who die waiting and those who receive the gift of life. Our work raises awareness of the urgent need for organ and tissue donors while helping recipients who have overcome the impossible to live life to the fullest. These individuals have faced life's greatest challenges; they are advocates for the cause but need resources, education and community. Transplant recipients have a unique opportunity to advocate for organ donation and raise awareness. Physical activity plays a crucial role in the recovery and long-term health of recipients. When recipients compete in world events, they demonstrate to the world what can be achieved through the gift of organ donation. Additionally, our programs provide recipients with community, tools, and resources to address the many challenges they face, leading to an increased quality of life. The WTGF promotes amateur sport amongst recipients, living donors and donor families; promoting the study of transplantation; educating the public and raising awareness of the world shortage of donor organs; sharing new knowledge from biological/clinical studies; promotion of mental and moral improvement for recipients, living donors and donor families; fostering international friendship and relations.

Since 2000, we have been present in Romania, working side by side with those who have lost everything. We are not just an organization that provides services-we are a community of solidarity, compassion, and action. Our commitment is deeply rooted in the Jesuit tradition of walking alongside the most vulnerable, ensuring that no one is left behind. For us, accompaniment is more than just a word-it's a way of being. When a refugee arrives in Romania, they often face uncertainty, fear, and immense challenges. From the very first moment, we are there. We listen to their stories, we understand their struggles, and we stand with them as they take their first steps toward a new life. Whether it's helping them find a safe place to stay, navigating the asylum system and integration system, or simply offering a warm conversation over a cup of tea, we ensure that no one faces their journey alone. But accompaniment alone is not enough. We are also called to serve-not as distant providers of aid, but as partners in the process of rebuilding lives. Every day, we provide: *Housing and material support-because no one should have to sleep on the streets after fleeing war and persecution. *Legal and social counseling-because navigating a new country's laws and systems can be overwhelming. *Education and vocational training-because refugees deserve a chance to learn, grow, and contribute to their new communities. *Psychosocial support and well-being programs-because healing takes time, and no one should have to bear the burden of trauma alone. Yet, service without justice is incomplete. This is why advocacy is at the heart of what we do. We work tirelessly to ensure that refugees' voices are heard, that their rights are respected, and that the policies shaping their futures are fair and humane. We engage with government institutions, collaborate with international organizations, and challenge harmful narratives that fuel xenophobia and exclusion. Every day, we fight for a Romania that is more welcoming, more just, and more inclusive. Over time, we have advocated for the rights of individuals with tolerated status, ensuring their access to various fundamental rights. Additionally, we have contributed to the revision and improvement of legislation on asylum, foreign nationals, social rights, and employment. Furthermore, we have actively collaborated with other NGOs in advocacy initiatives and campaigns to promote these essential changes. Our vision is a Romania where refugees are not just tolerated but truly welcomed, protected, and empowered. A society where a Syrian family can find safety and start anew without fear. Where a Ukrainian mother can enroll her children in school without barriers. Where an Afghan student can dream of becoming a doctor and make that dream a reality. We dream of a future where refugees are seen not as "others" but as neighbors, colleagues, friends, and fellow citizens. Where diversity is celebrated, not feared. Where every person, regardless of their origin, is given the opportunity to live with dignity and contribute to the common good. At JRS Romania, we do not work for refugees-we work with them and a true example is that JRS Romania has hired more then 100 Ukrainians and other refuges (Syrian and Rwanda). Their resilience inspires us, their struggles push us forward, and their successes remind us why we do what we do.

LaPrimulBebe provides informational and emotional support to pregnant women and mothers in Romania. This support is offered through online communities, humanitarian campaigns, and parenting education events, courses, and programs. LaPrimulBebe is the only Romanian community awarded by Facebook USA, being named one of the top 100 most impactful online communities in the world. The Facebook Community Leadership Program Fellowship 2018 meant one year of high-level training alongside the Facebook team, focused on building and leading online communities. Through our humanitarian campaigns, we have raised 6,300,000 so far, which we used to renovate and equip hospital departments that care for mothers and children. The mission of LaPrimulBebe is to provide an empathetic and trustworthy online space where mothers receive informational and emotional support during the first years after childbirth.

Through sports, education, arts, and culture, we aim to give children and young people from the Szekler and Roma minorities in the heart of Romania the opportunity to learn and develop social, personal, and professional skills - to improve their future prospects and enable greater participation in society.

KNE Sustainability Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting global sustainable thinking and action. Our goal is to accelerate the dissemination of sustainability knowledge through modern media and e-learning. We are funded through partnerships, grants, and collaborations with organizations committed to sustainability and regeneration. Our key initiatives include the Global Goals Compass, a tool that provides guidance on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and ReGen.rocks, an interactive social learning platform designed to educate young people on sustainability, connect them in a social network and match them with regenerative projects. Additionally, we connect researchers in the field of sustainable development, create innovative e-learning programs, and support companies and organizations in effectively implementing sustainability and regeneration strategies. The Sibiu Community Foundation (SCF) is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and resilient society in Romania, guided by principles of democracy, human rights, and ethical governance. Operating in a country still grappling with the legacies of its communist past-marked by economic disparity, corruption, societal discrimination, and gender inequalities-SCF strives to bridge these gaps through strategic, community-driven initiatives. Its core mission is to empower vulnerable populations-including women and girls, Roma, displaced persons, migrants, and marginalized groups-by promoting social justice, economic independence, education, leadership, and civic participation. As a women-led organization with an all-female board and executive team, SCF exemplifies its commitment to gender equality, ensuring that women's voices influence community initiatives and policymaking. The foundation believes that sustainable social progress comes from inclusive leadership, authentic public participation, and collaborative partnerships with public authorities, the private sector, and civil society. Building trust and transparency remains central to its approach, enabling it to develop scalable programs that produce tangible, lasting impact. SCF's operational excellence was demonstrated through its rapid and effective response during crises. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the foundation played a pivotal role in fundraising and managing procurement activities to support Romanian hospitals, strengthening health systems at a critical time. Its comprehensive approach extended beyond medical supplies to include social outreach, aid distribution, and awareness campaigns, helping vulnerable communities withstand the social and economic shocks of the pandemic. In 2022, SCF's dedication to humanitarian response was further exemplified through its leadership during the Ukrainian refugee emergency. Establishing a dedicated operational team, the foundation coordinated logistics, provided psychosocial support, and facilitated integration programs for a rapidly growing Ukrainian community-numbering approximately 8,000 people-within Sibiu County. Their initiatives included UN-funded projects focused on language learning, vocational training, cultural exchange, and mental health, promoting social cohesion and empowering displaced persons to rebuild their lives. This work garnered international recognition when the team was awarded the European Economic and Social Committee Civil Society Prize in 2022. In 2024, recognizing the importance of strategic consolidation and long-term impact, SCF integrated its emergency response team into its broader organizational framework. This integration created one of Romania's largest and most dynamic community foundation teams, capable of addressing a wide spectrum of community needs across social development, civic engagement, and humanitarian aid. As a United Nations Refugee Response Partner, the foundation commits to coordinated, sustainable interventions that foster diversity, inclusion, and social cohesion. Today, SCF actively promotes community engagement through local initiatives, innovative projects, and advocacy efforts that aim to promote behavioral change, enhance educational and economic opportunities, and support local leadership. Its programs are designed to be scalable and replicable, ensuring that best practices can be adopted across different regions and communities. The foundation's overarching goal is to foster social resilience, reduce inequalities, and build a society where everyone-regardless of background-has the opportunity to thrive and contribute to Romania's democratic, inclusive future. SCF envisions a Romania in which societal barriers are replaced by bridges of understanding, cooperation, and mutual respect. It is dedicated to fostering partnerships that uphold the rule of law, promote ethical governance, and prioritize human dignity. Through ongoing commitment, professionalism, and community-centered strategies, the foundation strives to create a more just, sustainable, and inclusive society for generations to come.

AIPC Pandora is a non-profit organization that works to generate the knowledge and the capacity of action needed at the international level for the construction of a more just and peaceful world. For this, we develop Global Learning Experiences for educational, intercultural, solidarity or professional insertion in one of the 57 countries in which we are present. We work both in Outbound / Outbound and Inbound / Host projects in Spain, offering transformative experiences based on the "Learning-Service" methodology that form global citizens in how to intervene in the great challenges of the world today.

Fundatia Inima de Copil (Heart of a Child Foundation) was established in 1996 by a group of volunteers from Galati, Romania who decided to help the children in need. Today, the foundation has 30 employees and 30-40 volunteers monthly and supported in 23 years over 15.000 children and families. Our mission is to provide a better life for children in Romania.We hope to enhance the life quality of children in Romania, by providing social services and we fight to protect children's rights. All the projects carried out together with our sponsors and contributors are intended to reunite human and community resources, so that every child may benefit from home, a family, and fulfil their potential. Approximately 21,5% of Romanian children live in poverty, according to the Eurostat 2019 statistics, and this ratio is the highest in EU, where the media is 5,9%. Over 32% of children live in extreme poverty, shows a report issued by Save the Children and People's Advocate in 2019. This phenomenon is widely-spread and more worrying in rural areas. For example, almost 30% of the children from the organization's programs live in families with an income of less than 70 USD/month/ person. Another worrying figure is that 150.000 children go to sleep hungry at night, just before the COVID 19 crisis, and the statistics included only the children living in the rural area and it has been calculated on the basis of a study made in 2018 by Save the Children, in which 3% of children said that they are going to sleep hungry every night, and 5% just from time to time. The ones that are more exposed to this risk are the ones who have 2 or more siblings. At the same time, the data from the report indicates that Romania has the highest mortality rate of children from EU (2018 - 6,5.), with a separate chapter of mortality under 1 year old. More than half of the deaths under 1 year are produced in the first month of life (neonatal mortality). During the last years, the rate of school abandonment has remained high and worrying. 19% of the children at the national level and 25% of the ones from rural areas abandon school before finishing high-school. Most of them do this because of material deprivation or work exploitation when they are 12-14 years old. Functional illiteracy is also an alarming consequence of the inadaptation of the educational system to the needs of children. If we take into consideration the non-unified regional economical development of Romania and the high discrepancies between urban and rural areas, the highest number of children and families affected by poverty and its consequences are registered in SE and North and in rural areas. The nowadays COVID 19 crisis has emphasized these problems as people lost their jobs, the high number of children that did not have and still don't have access to digital education (the estimated number is 250.000 children at the national level and approx 12.000 in our area), the limited access to health services and hygienic supplies that translates into higher costs for families. In all these circumstances, our mission as an organisation is far more important. We are one of the most known and appreciated organisations that offer social services in the South East of Romania, having beneficiaries right now from 4 poor counties from Romania (Galati, Vaslui, Vrancea, Tulcea). Moreover, the present focus of the organisation and of future programs is concentrated on the rural area, on communities where we know that the chances for children's evolution are very limited without any support from the outside.

Since 2004, United Way of Romania (UWRo) has been supporting social programs and initiatives that improve the lives of children, adults and the elderly in need. Our work focuses on the three directions that lay the foundation for a thriving community: access to quality education, good health services and a sufficient income to support a family. UWRo works as a community organizer, mobilizing an extensive network of community partners - NGOs, companies, public institutions, civil society leaders, donors and volunteers - to coordinate their efforts to produce a collective impact. Our vision is that of a world where every community is strong, has jobs that ensure a decent and stable income, good schools and a healthy environment. Around the world, we engage people and organizations in innovative solutions that make this vision a reality. United Way of Romania mission is to improve the quality of life in our communities through individual giving, corporate giving, and volunteerism. Objectives of our work: To engage more companies and individuals in CSR, philanthropic and volunteering activities. To enable social services NGOs to offer higher quality services to our community members. To promote transparency and professionalism. To support government institutions and the civil society in their efforts to build prosperous communities. United Way Romania's activities are based on the "Live United" principle, founded on the certitude that, together, relevant actors and community members can contribute to a better life for everyone: quality education leads to a stable job, provides a decent income that can support a family and a good health.

eLiberare is a Romanian organisation focused on preventing human trafficking & sexual exploitation. Our mission is to build a social movement against human trafficking. Our main goal is to equip people to prevent human trafficking in their own communities. Our priorities are five-fold: 1. PREVENTION EDUCATION We decrease the risks of trafficking by making people aware of the issues and empowering them to prevent trafficking in their own communities. We do not only target vulnerabilities, but also seek to spark peer-to-peer prevention initiatives in schools and at community level. 2. CAPACITY BUILDING We resource and equip people through specialized training sessions, such as seminars for social workers, school teachers, police officers, business owners, church leaders and others. Our approach not only targets first-responders, but also non-traditional actors who are leaders within their communities and know the situation firsthand. 3. EXTERNAL ASSISTANCE We come alongside state and private shelters and transition homes that help restore and reintegrate victims and survivors of human trafficking into healthy communities. Whether it's targeted donations or gifts, or mentoring programs that result in survivor-lead resources, our team invests in generously giving back to those who drive our work. 4. STRATEGIC ADVOCACY We create opportunities which bring people together from different sectors of society like businesses, non-profits, governments, schools, churches, arts and media in order to facilitate a multidisciplinary approach to address human trafficking. Our goal is to ensure better legislation that protects victims and counters the culture of impunity, nationally, at a EU-level and globally. 5. AWARENESS EVENTS We proactively go towards those vulnerable and those prone to using services of trafficked individuals in order to inform them about the phenomenon. Our main goal here is to bring the topic into the mainstream, in a respectful and constructive way. To reach this objective, we create online and offline events in order to reach as many people as possible.
