The Sibiu Community Foundation (SCF) is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and resilient society in Romania, guided by principles of democracy, human rights, and ethical governance. Operating in a country still grappling with the legacies of its communist past-marked by economic disparity, corruption, societal discrimination, and gender inequalities-SCF strives to bridge these gaps through strategic, community-driven initiatives. Its core mission is to empower vulnerable populations-including women and girls, Roma, displaced persons, migrants, and marginalized groups-by promoting social justice, economic independence, education, leadership, and civic participation. As a women-led organization with an all-female board and executive team, SCF exemplifies its commitment to gender equality, ensuring that women's voices influence community initiatives and policymaking. The foundation believes that sustainable social progress comes from inclusive leadership, authentic public participation, and collaborative partnerships with public authorities, the private sector, and civil society. Building trust and transparency remains central to its approach, enabling it to develop scalable programs that produce tangible, lasting impact. SCF's operational excellence was demonstrated through its rapid and effective response during crises. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the foundation played a pivotal role in fundraising and managing procurement activities to support Romanian hospitals, strengthening health systems at a critical time. Its comprehensive approach extended beyond medical supplies to include social outreach, aid distribution, and awareness campaigns, helping vulnerable communities withstand the social and economic shocks of the pandemic. In 2022, SCF's dedication to humanitarian response was further exemplified through its leadership during the Ukrainian refugee emergency. Establishing a dedicated operational team, the foundation coordinated logistics, provided psychosocial support, and facilitated integration programs for a rapidly growing Ukrainian community-numbering approximately 8,000 people-within Sibiu County. Their initiatives included UN-funded projects focused on language learning, vocational training, cultural exchange, and mental health, promoting social cohesion and empowering displaced persons to rebuild their lives. This work garnered international recognition when the team was awarded the European Economic and Social Committee Civil Society Prize in 2022. In 2024, recognizing the importance of strategic consolidation and long-term impact, SCF integrated its emergency response team into its broader organizational framework. This integration created one of Romania's largest and most dynamic community foundation teams, capable of addressing a wide spectrum of community needs across social development, civic engagement, and humanitarian aid. As a United Nations Refugee Response Partner, the foundation commits to coordinated, sustainable interventions that foster diversity, inclusion, and social cohesion. Today, SCF actively promotes community engagement through local initiatives, innovative projects, and advocacy efforts that aim to promote behavioral change, enhance educational and economic opportunities, and support local leadership. Its programs are designed to be scalable and replicable, ensuring that best practices can be adopted across different regions and communities. The foundation's overarching goal is to foster social resilience, reduce inequalities, and build a society where everyone-regardless of background-has the opportunity to thrive and contribute to Romania's democratic, inclusive future. SCF envisions a Romania in which societal barriers are replaced by bridges of understanding, cooperation, and mutual respect. To promote, encourage and project these principles in all its dimensions, within and beyond South Africa's borders. To benefit all of creation, in keeping with these principles, including service to plant, animal , environment and all of humanity irrespective of race, religion, colour, culture, political affiliation or geographical boundary. Without derogating from the generality of the aforegoing the activities of the Foundation , inter alia , include: Disaster management and humanitarian aid delivery in crises whether natural or man-made including floods, cyclones, hurricanes, earthquakes , tornado, accidents and war; Establishment of medical facilities , clinics and hospitals; Delivery of medicines and medical equipment; Establishment of feeding schemes, food parcel delivery and poverty relief programmes including assistance with burial and funeral arrangements, provision of new and used clothing, blankets and baby milk powder; Provision of boreholes, waterwells and water purification tablets; Provision of free telephonic and face-face counselling services in matters of depression, drug abuse, relationship problems, HIV/AIDS, marital discord, parenting, learning difficulties, teenage problems, child abuse, domestic violence, maintenance grants, etc. ; Establishment of Drug Rehab Centres and Havens for the abused; women and children in particular; Establishment of orphanages and old age homes; Provision of wheelchairs, hearing aids, braille machines and any such equipment and aids to assist physically and mentally challenged individuals; Provision of Life Skills training; empowerment counselling and skills in counselling; Establishment of skills development programmes, entrepreneul skills and job creation projects; Promoting South Africa as a means to encourage tourism, investment and further job creation initiatives; Provision of agricultural implements and Farmer's Packs (seeds, fertiliser , LAN, etc.) to promote food security and self sustainability; Establishment of educational institutions whether religious or secular; Provision of bursaries, textbooks, stationery, computers, technology workshops and other educational support; Establishment of places of worship including a tekke (meeting place for dervishes or disciples); Promotion of peace, tolerance, understanding, love, mercy and inter-faith dialopue between people, communities, cultures and religions; Promotion of faith, spirituality and religious awareness ; Establishment of community radio, television and media to assist with all the above principles; Support of artists who can promote all the above principles through song , writings, etc.

We are an institution founded in 1953, in Mexicali BC, Mexico, under the direction of the Trinitarian Sisters, we serve girls and young women who have been abused or are at risk in their communities. We focus in offering them protection, safeguarding their dignity and rights while giving them the opportunity to make a change in their lives. Our mission is to be an open door to hope, giving girls and young women the opportunity of a new life. WELCOMING without condition, ORIENTING those who are confused, LOOKING for those who are lost, CELEBRATING their achievements, TEACHING the path that leads them to their own fulfillment and happiness, FREEING them from any slavery, LIFTING UP those who have fallen, ACCOMPANYING them in their fight to regain their dignity and SENDING them to announce the good news of their lives. We make them feel loved and respected. We teach them values by setting the example: honesty, integrity, humility, empathy, respect, tolerance, patience, truthfulness, responsibility, discipline, and hard work are some of which we practice. Our Vision is to be a home with appropriate and dignified spaces that allow the practice of the necessary activities and programs where the girls can discover the treasure that they carry within, we do this by helping them maximize their potential by discovering their talents and capabilities so they can achieve social re-integration when they are ready to leave our home. During their time in our school the girls continue their education and receive professional psychological attention. We work in conjunction with institutions in the area with whom we have agreements that certify that the girls have comply with the Government Educational requirements. Some girls are allowed to attend school out of our home, others receive home schooling, either because they are behind their regular school grade or need special attention. That is why we also offer government approved home education programs. We follow up with each case until the girls succeed and get their school diploma. To assure the girls not only have an academic development, we also offer different workshops so they can have an alternative career path when leaving the house, they can choose between, Cosmetology, Seamstress, and Artisanship. They also learn English and take IT courses. We are very proud to be able to say that over the years we have rescued from the streets over 320 girls, we have formed more than 70 community leaders and over 50 of our girls have been able to form their own family.

The objectives of starting up the Batwa Initiative are: - (a) Transform the lives of Batwa people though training and building different skills for self-reliance. (b) To promote education among the Batwa. Currently the majority of the Batwa are illiterate, our aim is to ensure that the Batwa have access to education and are able to read, write and to develop their English skills. (c) To create and promote a peaceful community between the Batwa and the people of the Nkuringo- Bwindi Ugandan community. (d) To educate the Batwa about environmental conservation and promoting the wildlife of the Bwindi forest to the benefit of the Batwa and the forest ecology. (e) To buy more land to ensure food security and prosperity. >Project goal The project or Association goal is to help create a sustainable future for the Batwa. > Mission Our mission is to train indigenous Batwa pygmies, children, women in Agriculture, for food security, nutrition and other income generating activities for a sustainable living. > Set targets. (a) To start up poultry, piggery and a goat's project to enhance the Batwa people with food and incomes. (b) To develop income generating and training opportunities to allow the Batwa to support their own families and strengthen the resources. (c) To raise enough financial and material resources for the running costs of the project/association.

Washington state ranks among the top states in the nation in the concentration of STEM jobs, and opportunities are increasing rapidly. By 2030, 70% of high-demand, family-sustaining wage jobs available in our state will require postsecondary degree credentials; 67% of those will require postsecondary STEM credentials. But Washington students are not equitably or adequately prepared to take advantage of these opportunities. Today, only 40% of all students are on track to attain postsecondary credential. Worse yet, students of color, rural students, girls and young women, and students living in poverty still lack access to these pathways—they face disparities early on and fall further behind as they move through the education system. In our state STEM is at the forefront of discovery, on the frontlines of creative 21st century problem-solving, and serves as one of the largest pathways to family-sustaining wage careers and long-term economic security. STEM pathways have promise like few others in Washington and it is imperative that Black, Brown, and indigenous students, rural and low-income students, and girls have access. Washington STEM is working to ensure that all students have equal opportunity to benefit from the transformational possibilities that STEM has to offer.

The Advocacy Project - A Voice for the Voiceless The Advocacy Project (AP) helps marginalized communities around the world take action against the root causes of their disempowerment in a way that benefits society as a whole and produces social change. To do this, we partner with community-based advocates who represent these communities and share their problems. Our support for partners is innovative and effective. First, we deploy Peace Fellows (experienced graduate students) to help partners tell their story, launch campaigns, and strengthen their organization: we have deployed 274 Peace Fellows since 2003, and in the process given our Fellows a unique experience. Second, we help partners to raise funds and manage their campaigns: we have raised over $2.5 million for partners, and are currently seeking funds through Global Giving for exciting projects in Nepal, Vietnam and Uganda. Third, we promote the work of partners internationally, using new methods of story-telling such as advocacy quilting: over 300 women have produced embroidered panels for our quilts, which have been shown throughout North America and Europe. There are many sports clubs in Berlin. We are a sports club for women/lesbians, trans*, inter* and girls. SEITENWECHSEL was founded in 1988. Today our club is a queer-feminist learning and movement space, created by full-time staff and many volunteers. We want the participation and self-determination of womenLesbiansTrans*Inter* and girls in sports and otherwise. We fight against any form of discrimination. We reject any form of discrimination. We want to create the safest possible spaces for this. Everyone should feel comfortable with us. - What is especially important to us: - Gender self-definition counts. You decide how you want to be addressed. - You decide your name and your pronoun. We mutually accept how people want to be addressed. Names and pronouns (like other things) can change. - There are many ways people are excluded. For example, there is racism, classism, and disability discrimination. No one form of discrimination is more important than another. Different forms of discrimination can work together. - We would like to see a conscious approach to discrimination in the club. The language in the sports groups should appeal to all people. It should not exclude any people.

With the goal of helping under-served communities in India, Nepal, and Tibet receive the vital services they need, Karuna-Shechen was founded in 2000 by Matthieu Ricard (www.matthieuricard.org), renown TED speaker, author, and humanitarian. We strive to reduce inequalities and work toward a fairer and more compassionate world. We trust that communities can be lifted out of poverty, that change is possible, and that the well-being of every individual, regardless of race, gender, class, or caste, is essential. We believe that building on local strengths and knowledge is the most efficient way to respond to the specific needs and aspirations of our beneficiaries. Rooted in the ideal of "compassion in action", we serve others with joy and determination by cultivating altruism in our hearts and actions. We provide vulnerable and disadvantaged populations access to health care, education and vocational training, clean water, solar electricity, and other sustainable solutions that offer options to find a livelihood and a better life. We work with a grassroots network of local partners, and give special attention to the education and empowerment of girls and women. Karuna-Shechen's name expresses its mission while paying homage to its roots: Karuna means "compassion" in Sanskrit, and Shechen is the name of a major monastery in Tibet.

Our food distribution initiatives prioritize daily wage laborers, widows, orphans, and elderly individuals who lack consistent access to nutritious food. During religious and national holidays, as well as in times of crisis, we expand our food relief programs to reach a larger number of beneficiaries. Our goal is not just to provide immediate relief but to work towards long-term solutions to eradicate hunger through sustainable food security programs. Education for All Education is a powerful tool that can break the cycle of poverty and open doors to countless opportunities. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. Research and Development of local language ICTs for education innovations for 21st Century for the empowerment of marginalized youth. It focuses on providing access to national education and local language advanced technology skill development. Shilpa Sayura has significantly contributed to rural education via Nenasala Telecentres and schools nationwide. Currently, the organization is at the forefront of equipping youth with skills in programming, IoT, Machine Learning, AI, and robotics, steering them towards careers in emerging technologies.
