Educate the Children (EtC) is a non profit, charitable organization founded in 2004 by a local teacher in London, ON, Canada. The Board of EtC consists of a group of Canadian professionals who believe that Education is a fundamental right of all children and a responsibility that must be shared by all. Our Core Values include: • Knowledge and education • Innovation and creativity • Honesty and transparency • Fairness and equality • Passion for our work • Justice • An overall commitment to leaving the world a better place than we found it. We are strongly committed and dedicated to raising the funds needed to complete our projects. All of our members are volunteers, this helps us to keep our administrative cost to 1%. This means that 99% of every donation goes towards completing our projects in rural Nigeria.

Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan is a volunteer not-for-profit organization founded in 1996 with over ten chapters across Canada. The goals are to advance education and educational opportunities for Afghan women and their families; and to educate and increase the understanding of Canadians about human rights in Afghanistan. Donor funded projects are implemented and managed in partnership with Afghan non-profit organizations. These projects include a number of community schools, village libraries, an orphanage, as well as teacher training, literacy, English and computer classes. The projects are funded mainly from individual donations from Canadians. Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan members were honoured with the YMCA Calgary Peace Award in the International category for their long-standing contribution to supporting peace and human rights for Afghan women and their families.

Chatham Christian School provides students in JK through Grade 12 with quality, Christian education. We offer a comprehensive program of studies that meets the Ministry of Education expectations using curriculum that is uniquely filtered through a Christian worldview. Students receive individual attention and encouragement from Christian teachers who re-affirm what is taught in church and in the home. CCS is a non-denomination Christian school with students from over 30 churches enrolled. As an independent school, CCS receives no government funding and must rely on tuition and donations to meet the annual budget. A Tuition Assistance Fund has been established to give financial aid to families who desire to have their children educated in a Christian school but cannot afford the tuition fees.

Renfrew Educational Services is a not-for-profit society and registered charity that has been offering a broad range of specialized programs for children since 1973. Fully accredited by Alberta Education, Renfrew’s programs and services lead the field in program development for children with special needs. Renfrew operates five centres in Calgary accommodating over 700 students from preschool to grade 6. Our Community Services department offers services to children in community schools. In our own centres, we also offer specialized programs for children with Autism, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) or motor disabilities. There are Teachers, Child Development Facilitators, Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Psychologists, Family Support Specialists, Assistive Technology Specialists, Therapy Assistants and Behaviour Consultants at all centres.

Yasodhara Ashram is a vibrant spiritual community where people of all ages work together to expand their awareness and to live the teachings of yoga. Open to people from all religious traditions, what we teach and practice promotes values of selfless service, compassion and devotion. Our goal is to bring quality into daily life and Light to the world. We train teachers and foster the growth of affiliated centres. We also publish books, CDs and DVDs of timeless wisdom (www.timeless.org). Founded in 1963 by Swami Radha, the Ashram is a registered educational institution with sister charities in Canada (Friends of Radha Foundation) and the USA (Association for the Development of Human Potential). The Ashram also maintains close relationships with other charities founded on Swami Radha's teachings in the United Kingom and Austrailia.

Standards and Curriculum Island Catholic Schools meet or exceed Ministry of Education standards in areas of academics, athletics, languages, and fine arts. Our schools follow prescribed Ministry of Education curriculum in addition to providing students with locally developed courses. Parental Involvement Parents and teachers are partners in education. Lions Gate Christian Academy is a K-12 school situated in beautiful North Vancouver and has been offering educational excellence to families for over 17 years. The school is interdenominational and as such is not controlled by any particular church. Based on its Statement of Faith the school is Evangelical in its Christian views. Lions Gate Christian Academy is a school which has high expectations for its students. High expectations in every aspect of school life prepares each student for a life of serving God and people. Kids Can Fly is a registered charity that supports early learning and parenting. We were founded in 2001. The mandate of Kids Can Fly is to help ALL children maximize their potential. We base what we do on the research of the late Dr. Fraser Mustard. This foundation of this research is that a baby’s brain is only 20% wired at birth and their experiences (or lack thereof) during the first six years of life set the stage for lifelong learning, health and well being. We also believe that parents are a child’s first and most important teachers and therefore we strive to help provide nurturing and learning for parents so they can do the very best job possible. Kids Can Fly likes to be considered a catalyst to help bring about change, fill gaps as they appear and to advocate for children and families.

HIPPY is an international programme, operating in 8 countries around the world. HIPPY started in Israel in 1968 and is well supported by research. HIPPY Oakville sends Home Visitors to the homes of vulnerable families to teach a 30 week curriculum of pre-reading, pre-math and pre-writing skills to 3,4 and 5 year old children. HIPPY helps three constituents: The Home Visitors are entry level workers who are trained and given 100 hours of education per year. After 2 - 3 years they are supported to find higher level work. The Mothers by being recognized as their children's first and best teacher develop their skills and self-esteem. They also foster their relationships with their children. Their children complete a carefully constructed curriculum and arrive at school, confident and ready to learn.

Franklin Preschool Society was founded in 2009 to operate Franklin Community Preschool, which has been in existence since 1977. It is run by a dedicated group of parent volunteers. All of our teachers are Early Childhood Education professionals with a wealth of experience working with preschool aged children. At Franklin, we strive to provide a fun and open learning environment for children to socialize and have a positive, enriching beginning to their first school experience. We emphasize peer relationships through socialization during small and large group activities. We offer daily art, science and math activities, music and movement, and much more. We are also actively involved with the elementary school by participating in assemblies, performances, buddy reading, sports day and other special events.

Faith Christian Academy offers affordable Christian education from elementary through high school in the greater Montreal area. Students feel safe to let their true personalities shine through. They are taught to be respectful of each other and individual differences are encouraged in a positive environment. A low student-teacher ratio allows for greater individual focus on each student, resulting in students who are held accountable for their academic achievements and behaviour. The majority of our alumni continue on to pursue post-secondary education, on their way to becoming respected leaders of the community, role models and advocates for Christian values. Looking outside the walls of the school, students and staff are encouraged to meet the spiritual and physical needs of those in our community and globally by demonstrating Christ’s love through effective use of time and resources.
