Be the Change Earth Alliance is a Canadian charitable organization that brings sustainability education programs to schools and communities to create environmental and social change. Our programs empower people of all ages to connect, understand and actively respond to the sustainability challenges facing our planet. Your donations will be supporting STUDENT LEADERSHIP IN SUSTAINABILITY, an innovative program that provides teachers and students with a groundbreaking educational curriculum for environmental sustainability, global citizenship, and youth empowerment. The 4,000 students currently using SLS are creating local solutions to global sustainability issues and your donations will help us bring SLS to more schools! A donation of $5 dollars will bring Student Leadership in Sustainability to a student. A donation of $100 will bring Student Leadership in Sustainability to a whole classroom. A donation of $250 will bring Student Leadership in Sustainability to an entire grade.

Our vision To enhance the understanding and creative abilities of our nation's children so that they can reach their maximum potential and stand shoulder to shoulder with children from all corners of the globe. Our Mission To empower children to think critically and creatively, to empathize and build bridges, to befriend books and learn skills. To provide access to quality books to improve reading proficiency of students in schools and communities to build a strong foundation of education for subsequent phases of learning To promote widespread reading culture among both the teachers and the students. To design innovative solutions partnerships to enhance the quality of education in Government schools to prepare our young girls to meet the challenges of today's world and grasp its opportunities. To stimulate and develop cognitive thinking in young minds and encourage students to explore and experiment with basic materials existing in their environment and understand the underlying scientific principles Brief overview Alif Laila Book Bus Society (ALBBS) traces its origin from the time when in 1978 an American couple - Dr. Nita Backer and Dr. Richard Baker - working at the American School in Lahore, came up with the idea to harness the reading potential in children and create a sense of affection for books. To make the whole concept attractive and child friendly, the society requested the Pakistan Road Transport Board to donate a Double Decker bus in which a library could be set up. Books were donated and soon afterwards the first Book Bus Library became functional. The idea proved to be a roaring success. Consequently to ensure provision of maximum benefit to the most vulnerable focus was placed on children enrolled in Government schools, whereas to widen the ambit of work the number of libraries was increased over time. Of these, the first set up in the double decker bus is a Stationed Bus Library, the second a Reference Library set up in a building, and the 2 Mobile Libraries and 3 rickshaw libraries for facilitating those children who cannot visit either of the above. From the time of its registration under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 in January 1979 till date, Alif Laila has focused on bringing books and children closer through setting up libraries small and big, in communities and in schools as well as its mobile library program. However, at the same time the organization has added interventions its portfolio that are congruent to its overall mission and vision. We focus on 6 main areas: 1) Access to quality children books; 2) Hands on learning 3) Teacher development; 4) Youth and women empowerment; 5) Public-private partnership; 6) Advocacy and 7) Development of ECE materials and children's books Scope of Work 1. Access To Quality Children Books Alif Laila is committed to targeting early literacy as the foundation of all other learning as an urgent priority. It has developed Pakistan's only comprehensive program to help our youngest citizens access quality children books. Alif Laila also believes in opening minds of our young ones through reading, a trait essential for any society to progress and have peace. In Lahore the unique library complex hosts Pakistan's pioneer children library and first mobile library. The mobile library program consists of 2 custom made small vehicles and a rickshaw. These mobile libraries serve low income communities as well as government schools. Rickshaw library is used for narrow streets. With the help of sponsors and donors we establish libraries of all sizes and shapes all over Pakistan, in schools and in communities. We focus on Pakistan's remote areas as well as communities in Gilgit-Baltistan. 2. Writing, printing and publishing children's books and Issue based books/posters 1. Bablo Bhai and Bhalo Mian 2. Hands-On Learning Program Under this program we offer free hands on learning classes in computers, art, craft and electronics to girls in government schools as well children from low income communities. It has 2 components; i) The Mobile Resource Centre. The mobile resource center carries a team of 4 instructors and the education kits . The team offers 2 hour long training to girls in classes of 6 and 7and ii) The Hobby Club Resource Centers located at the Alif Laila building serve children from low income communities. 4. Teacher Development Teacher development program targets capacity building in Early Childhood Education (ECE) as well as improving the capacity and development of skills of teachers in primary and middle school. We encourage teachers to enrich their teaching methods by involving experimentation and embedding arts, culture and creative approaches. We offer free capacity building workshops in government schools and low-cost private schools. We also conduct ECE trainings at Directorate of Staff Development, the prime teacher training institute of Government of the Punjab.. 5. Youth And Women Empowerment Our youth and women empowerment program focuses on i. Workshops and trainings enhancing employability of youth especially women through resume writing and interview skills workshops ii. Entrepreneurship workshops iii. Coaching craft skills to earn from home iv. Kitchen Gardening workshops to address challenges of urban food insecurity 6. Public-Private Partnership Under public-private partnership we work with the provincial governments in the following areas I- Setting up library corners in Government Primary Schools and training teachers on the use of library in their teaching to enhance reading proficiency and enrich learning II- Early Childhood Education-ECE a. ECE training workshops for government school teachers b. Setting up ECE Model Centers c. Setting up ECE centers in government school III- School improvement program IV- Revamping children corners in public libraries and redefining the role of public libraries as crucial partners for youth empowerment program 7. Advocacy Through policy dialogues with policy makers and innovative campaigns Alif Laila engages in advocacy for the following, Environment and recycling Grade Level Reading Proficiency Matters-Providing access to books in primary schools for reading proficiency Kitchen Gardening for urban food security and nutrition 8. Development Of ECE Materials And Children Books Alif Laila is a brand name in the development of ECE materials and also develops award winning children's books. Alif Laila is a key consultant in setting up ECE centers in the government schools in Punjab

The Walden Woods Project was founded in 1990 to protect land of ecological and historic significance surrounding Walden Pond. At that time nearly half of the Walden Woods' 2,680 acres remained unprotected from development. Two large tracts of land (a total of 43 acres) were under immediate threat as developers sought to construct an office park and a large condominium complex in close proximity to Walden Pond. In January 1991, the Walden Woods Project raised enough money to buy the 25-acre Bear Garden Hill site. A few years later, the Project acquired a second parcel, known as Brister?s Hill. In 1998, the Walden Woods Project opened The Thoreau Institute at Walden Woods containing over 8,000 volumes and 60,000 items of Thoreau-related materials and launched its two trademark teacher education programs, Approaching Walden and Finding Walden.

Since Carousel Players began in 1972, over 2.7 million students, teachers and families have seen our productions. We regularly perform in schools across Ontario, and frequently tour to theatres in London and Toronto. Our award-winning plays have toured as far away as England and Japan. Carousel Players operates out of the historic Courthouse in downtown St. Catharines. We also present public performances for Niagara families in the Sullivan Mahoney Courthouse Theatre at 101 King Street. Our facility is actively used by local theatre, dance and music organizations from the Niagara region. Carousel Players was founded by Desmond Davis, a Professor of Drama at Brock University to serve youth in Niagara. Other artistic leaders of the company include Duncan McGregor, Pierre Tetrault, Kim Selody and Pablo Felices-Luna, our current artistic director.

Our school and day programs are developed to best suit the abilities and cognitive levels of our students and clients responding to each individual’s specialized needs. Elves is a specialized environment that serves children, youth and adults with the highest needs. Throughout our 40 years of being established Elves has enhanced its programs and services to best serve the expanding demographic of disabled persons. We serve children with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Autism, Down Syndrome as well as those with speech delays, and PT or OT needs. Our youth and adult clients have severe developmental disabilities and are medically fragile. We provide on site services such as: *Special Education Teachers and Aides *Rehabilitation Practitioners & Assistants *Social Workers *Physical Therapists & Consultants *Occupational Therapist & Consultants *Speech Language Pathologists *Nurses ( RNs and LPNs) *Behavioural Consultant *Early Childhood Consultant

MARL holds a variety of innovative set of educational activities public events, including an annual Human Rights Film Festival and public lectures. MARL works in schools helping develop teachers’ skills to help support curriculum and run the 'Leadership in Social Justice Program'. This unique approach inspires youth about social justice issues and empowers them to take action by building the skills to run programs focusing on issues in their communities. MARL works to change policies to uphold rights through legislative review by preparing briefs and studies at all levels of government. MARL also provides referral and legal information in response to inquiries from individuals. For young people interested in learning about their rights, MARL has developed the Under 18 Handbook, a Legal Guide for Manitoba Teens. This free handbook is available in hardcopy and on our website.

Food for the Poor Canada (FFPC) is an interdenominational, Christian charity whose purpose is to provide basic aid and sustainable development to those in need in Haiti and Jamaica. Our current focus is on education and health. With your help we are building schools and training teachers. We are feeding the hungry, building homes and providing healthcare to the sick. Food For The Poor Canada is an affiliated agency to Food For The Poor Inc. (USA), one of the largest international relief and development agencies in North America. Its programs are close to $1 billion dollars yearly with a 96% efficiency ratio. Food For The Poor Canada works with established partners in the region. These organizations are in charge of distribution of goods to churches, hospitals, schools and community leaders that work directly with the poor. They oversee and manage the construction of homes, water wells, schools, clinics and all other projects funded by FFP (USA) and FFPC.

The BIG Little Science Centre (BLSC) was started in February 2000 by Gordon R. Gore, a retired science teacher who has dedicated his life to teaching science in an interactive environment. The Centre currently operates out of eight classrooms leased from School District 73. The current program format allows visitors a period of time to experiment on their own at any of 130 plus hands-on stations located in three classrooms. three other rooms are used for demonstrations and serve as a basic teaching laboratories with capacity for 32 visitors each. The BIG Little Science Centre Society was established in October 2002 and registered as a charitable organization in September 2003. The Society has a leadership of eleven directors who meet monthly. The current Volunteer Board represents a diverse range of experience and skills including education, accounting, engineering, business, science and the trades.

CARIBBEAN GLOBAL MISSIONS/BELKA ENRICHMENT CENTER is committed to providing- various quality programs for Children, Youth and Adults with our well equipped volunteers and resources needed to help them work with the children and youth in the community to reach their full potential. We promote the concepts of life long innovative learning and dedicated to offering opportunities for both our Volunteers and the group of Children and Youth that we serve in all communities involved. Goal: To establish a Mobile Computer Lab that improves academic and social skills of youth from grades 6 to 8 in the broader Jane Finch community. With the children and Youth in mind we have designed programs that include • Academic After School Programs (homework club, Tutoring and Computer Project Help) + French Language Program • Workshops for Educators: Teachers, Principals, Guidance, and the Psychologists; • Multicultural and Diversity community awareness
