Our vision is to help build a just society and our mission to secure rights, health and development for marginalized people. We work with the most disadvantaged people, giving priority to women and children - people living with HIV, tuberculosis and leprosy; Dalits (literally 'broken people' - the 'untouchables' of India) and the most discriminated among them; Tribals (indigenous people), women in prostitution, transgendered people, sexual minorities (LGBT), children at risk and people with disability. Our strategy is to mainstream gender, child rights, disability and the needs of the most disadvantaged people of the area. We provide direct services to fill gaps in existing facilities where necessary. But the main strategy is to encourage and support community volunteers and community based organizations to advocate for their rights and entitlements. Our mission is to develop new ideas and implement new solutions to address the short and long-term threats to elephant survival, providing them a new future free of cruelty and death at the hands of humans. Our unique approach of developing communities that will end poaching and illegal trafficking, implementing humane economies within host countries and by creating non-invasive research facilities, we will bring transformational change to this epic struggle while bettering the lives of the indigenous population and the host government. The Elephant Project will create self-sustaining and self-funding sanctuaries and communities reducing the need to constantly fundraise for the project. This project is designed to be a model that can be used all over the world to protect endangered species, better the economies of the host country, provide skills training, jobs, healthcare and educational opportunities for the indigenous population.

Ocean Conservation Research is focused on understanding the scope of, and exploring solutions to the growing problem of human generated noise pollution and its impact on marine animals.We engage in marine biological and technological research based on conservation priorities. We use the products of this research to inform the policies and practice of the public, industry, and lawmakers so that we may all become stewards of the sea.

To protect and preserve the Hitchcock Woods in a natural and ecologically healthy state, maintain and manage historic and traditional equestrian and pedestrian uses, and foster education and research on the history and resources of the Woods. Vision. To maintain and restore the ecological integrity of the Hitchcock Woods and to serve as a model for sustainable urban forestry, balancing stewardship of forestland natural resources with compatible human uses.

The Children's Radio Foundation (CRF) uses radio training and broadcast to create opportunities for youth dialogue, participation, leadership, and active citizenship. Through giving youth the tools and skills to produce radio, young people are mobilized to engage in productive dialogue about the issues they face, and work together to improve their lives and communities. With 74 youth radio projects across six African countries, CRF works with radio stations and CBOs to create local platforms for discussion, information sharing, social engagement, and action. Our reporters take on issues that resonate with youth in their community, including but not limited to children's rights, sexual reproductive health and rights, power dynamics in teenage relationships, gender norms and stereotypes, HIV and AIDS-related issues, climate change, and the environment. Speaking in local languages and in a youth-friendly style, they interview community members, host debates, and bring out local perspectives. Their reporting projects, broadcasts, and outreach activities are geared to generate discussion about issues facing youth.

Wildlife Response, Inc. (WRI) is dedicated to the preservation of wildlife through rehabilitation and education. One of the most universal challenges today in the battle to save wild things and wild places is how to bond people to the physical world in a powerful enough way to give them the motivation to want to protect and preserve it. It is especially important in our growing suburban and urban communities to increase significant associations connecting people and nature, especially where natural environments and natural experiences are less and less common. On a local level, the steady arrival of new residents to the Hampton Roads area is having a overwhelming impact on our wildlife and natural environment. As we accommodate this progression, it is essential that people who now call the Hampton Roads area home understand the sensitive balance of human and non-human populations, the affect we have on the natural environment, and the best ways in which we can coexist.

The Pet Therapy Society of Northern Alberta was created to provide the benefits of the human-animal bond that is well documented in medical, psychological and social literature. At all stages throughout our lives animal companionship can stimulate sensitivity and learning. In adolescents, involvement in animal assisted activities (AAA) can add a perspective not usually available in many non-pet home or classroom situations. Interaction with companion animals can involve values, morals, modes of behaviour, attitudes and self-examination as well as skills. While the focus is on the human-animal relationship, other aspects including environmental issues, personal health and safety and cooperative learning may also be associated. Members volunteer their personal time along with their pets, providing animal-assisted therapy and animal-assisted activity programs in hospitals, nursing homes, mental health and corrections programs to name a few.
