Amazon Watch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1996 to protect the rainforest and advance the rights of Indigenous peoples in the Amazon Basin. We partner with Indigenous and environmental organizations in campaigns for human rights, corporate accountability, and the preservation of the Amazon's ecological systems. Indigenous communities have lived in balance with the Amazon for millennia and have protected this ecosystem — the largest and most bio-culturally diverse tropical rainforest in the world — from destruction due to colonization and continued extraction. Oil and gas drilling, logging, poaching, road-building, damming and mining all have highly destructive impacts on the rainforest and Indigenous peoples of the Amazon Basin. Amazon Watch has worked in solidarity with Indigenous partners for 25 years to halt and hold accountable the global drivers of Amazon destruction, advance and amplify Indigenous rights, resistance, and solutions to protect the Amazon Basin, and support global movement-building for Pan-Amazon protection and climate justice. Amazon Watch uses a range of tactics including media outreach, direct dialogue with corporate and development bank management, mobilizing shareholder pressure, legal and media capacity-building among Indigenous communities, monitoring, documenting and publicizing the negative impacts of specific projects, and calling for the establishment of rainforest reserves to protect the Amazon's biodiversity and rainforest communities. Considering the Amazon is at a tipping point, we commit to addressing root causes and threats to the Amazon and seek systemic solutions while opposing false solutions like carbon offsets. We recognize that the systems that continually violate human rights also destroy the Earth and must be dramatically transformed or abolished. At Amazon Watch, we commit to working in solidarity with Indigenous peoples and a growing global movement calling for urgent action to permanently protect the Amazon, defend the defenders, and advance climate justice.

AASEE is dedicated to advancing science and engineering education at the K-12 level. We work directly with students in the classroom. AASEE designs curriculum-based and fun hands-on activities through collaborative research, where we try to ensure a maximum engagement of teachers and parents along with the students. We provide training and resources to pre-university educators. We also create opportunities for the students to learn directly from experts and leaders in the respective fields. AASEE gives priority to diverse populations, namely Canada’s first nations peoples, girls, and those in financial need, as well as rural populations. We are mandated to work across the globe, and are implementing an ambitious plan. At AASEE we target tomorrow´s leaders in science and engineering who will be working with a true passion. We believe advancing science and engineering education is the right way to go, and the right thing to do.

To pragmatically facilitate the provision of quality health, quality education for children, skill acquisition and training for Women and Young Girls, complemented with life-enhancing infrastructures and social amenities towards improved lifestyles for the Less Privileged in sub-urban and Rural Communities.

However a culture defines it, literacy touches every aspect of individual and community life. It is an essential foundation for learning through life and must be valued as a human right. Our primary program is a one-to-one tutoring program that matches trained volunteer tutors with adult learners, to help them meet their literacy goals. Our mission is to develop and support people in need, in particular children and women in poor countries like Nepal and people in India living below poverty line. We develop our project strategies on our own together with local partners. In India e.g. we set in place a comprehensive, focused and tailored program in order to transform the society. The strategy is focused on children and women. For children we offer child emergency services, child care services and Skill Development and a Women empowerment program including Skill Development. This unique strategy perfectly fits together and will have a significant impact on the people in this area. We have a clear view on what is achievable and we only start programs with a high probability of success. Less is more is one of our principle. We do not want to run projects which are too big and only a few ones. Our aim is to run all projects as long-term projects, i.e. at least 25+ years.

Our mission is to empower women and youths, especially adolescent girls, to have expanded personal choices, explore their potentials, and control their future so that we can close gender gaps and challenge actions which stunt girls' development in the communities where we operate. We work in 3 critical areas of Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 3: Ensure healthy life and promote well-being for all at all ages Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all Goal 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.

ABSWP supports projects based on self-reliance, which are compatible with the principles and goals of the organization, with start-up financing until independence is ensured. The Lea Roback Foundation awards each year scholarships to women of all ages who are in financial difficulty and yet socially committed, so they can realize their plans to go to school. Because it doesn’t have an office or staff, all donations go directly to those in need.

Vision Statement St. Margaret’s Bay Stewardship Association seeks a democratic method of documenting and honouring common community values in the St. Margaret's Bay area as well as achieving effective stewardship of that which we all hold dear, including our waters and woodlands, our unique history and heritage, the rights of our residents and communities, and the effective management of change with respect to sustainability, vitality, prosperity and self-reliance of the region.
