Because democracies rely upon a well-educated citizenry, CCLET’s mission is to engage Canadians in developing the habits they need to participate in the democratic process. Among the outreach programmes of the Canadian Civil Liberties Trust are Civil Liberties in the Schools and Teaching Civil Liberties. These programs focus on getting students to ask critical questions about their rights and freedoms. By shining the light of inquiry on unfairness, we begin the process of change. Through CCLET guest speakers, conferences, and workshops for schools and community organizations, participants are engaged in lively discussions about their rights and freedoms and the important legal and civil liberties issues created by a pluralistic society. Particular emphasis is on providing programmes for student teachers, and high school law and social studies students.

The Canadian Battlefields Foundation (CBF) underwrites an annual bursary program for study and research in Canadian military history of the 20th Century and supports and encourages Canadian universities in the teaching of and research into Canada's military operations of the 20th Century. CBF commemorates the service and sacrifice of all Canadians who have served their country in the cause of freedom.

The mission of Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum is to steward America’s first aviation battlefield of World War II sharing the artifacts, personal stories, the impact and response to the December 7, 1941 attack and the Pacific region battles that followed, honoring those who have defended our freedom so we might educate and inspire future generations.

West Coast LEAF works to make British Columbia an equal place for all women by making the promise of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms a reality in women's lives. Education: We provide speakers and free publications such as the Privacy Handbook, Rights Talk, The Arrest Handbook, Police Complaints and the Citizenship Handbook. Advocacy: We provide direct assistance to individuals who have complaints or concerns about civil liberties violations by government, employers, etc. Common areas of work include police and privacy complaints, free speech and anti-oppression. Policy: We have played a major role in advocating for human rights legislation, police accountability reform, access-to-information and privacy legislation, while also resisting the more draconian anti-terrorism provisions. Litigation: When all else fails, the BCCLA will challenge laws in the courts. We have always fought to preserve freedom of expression in Canada through strategic litigation, such as opposing book bans. MISSION: To undertake programs, projects and activities aimed at fulfilling the all round developmental needs of rural and tribal women that are in consonance with the vision of the organization that reads as "Emergence of empowered rural and tribal women with equality of rights, freedom of expression, and with a deep concern for the suffering irrespective of caste, creed, religion, race and language differences" Goal - Empowered rural communities with people developed in all aspects of life and have the knowledge and skills to decide for themselves and do not attribute everything that happens in their life to fate and destiny. The main aims of the organization are: To equip women with knowledge and skills that would help them manage all their affairs on their own - In other words, help women attain empowerment; To capacitate women through leadership development, community organization, promotion of self-help groups: To organize skill development and income generating programs and allow participation of women in all stages of project implementation that included monitoring and evaluation; To strive for a gender just society where women have the knowledge, right, freedom and capacity to participate equally with men in the governance of the society.

To provide dynamic leadership for implementing what we see as universal values founded on fundamental Islamic values by contributing to the alleviation of poverty and securing better socio-economic life for the disadvantaged groups through empowering them to depend on themselves and participate in the decisions concerning their own problems. These values are echoed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other United Nations human rights instruments. The freedoms and responsibilities inherent in them lead directly to tolerance, pluralism, gender equality, public dialogue and non-violence to settle disputes, respect for all people regardless of differing characteristics – all part of what we call “Canadian values”.
